Not happening with 3 years left on that contract.

Should not have signed him but that is a different topic.

Sad really he’s good man defender

You think POR is going to waive him, with 3 years left at $35 million per so your team can pick him up for free? And he stays on our cap sheet?

Thank you very little, No.

No I just don’t think his trade value will be high that’s all . Almost free

I don’t value Grant much, but the FO does. His contract doesn’t look as bad with some of contracts handed out this summer.

They have a bunch of assets. I think that's what OP meant.

-Henderson came on at the end of the year, Simons is solid (very good on offense) and Sharpe is a legit talent
-They added Deni to Grant at the forward, that's a good starting group, with Thybulle and Murray behind them
-Ayton is (at worst) an average starting center, Clingon looks like a solid rookie and RWill (if healthy) can play some 4 too
-They have Danton, Reath, Walker and Camara for deep bench

Again, not saying they won't finish at the bottom of the West, but that's a pretty good "bad" team, right?

When looking at overall talent, the league is just more talented than it has ever been, so even low win teams possess much more talent than low win teams of the past did.

Really? i think they're brutal. The pick they owe us is 4 years out and i still think we never see it! It looks more like a decade long Minnesota/Sacramento/Detroit (the former 2 until recently) run of being in the lottery year after year after year.

Thats probably why for the last handful of years, their F.O. wasn't as gung ho as Realgm posters were to trade Lillard and tank. You can tank for 10 years and not get a guy as good as Lillard.

Capture the Flagg has to be the obvious one here, right?

Time Lord simply has no trade value until he shows he can be healthy for a few months (weeks).

And Thybulle is a solid complimentary piece but doesn't hold a lot of trade value on his own. He'd likely be used as filler or a sweetener as a part of a bigger deal, but in the mean time he's just a solid locker room vet who doesn't hurt the tank too much.

I think the team legit values DominAyton as a reclamation project and sees themselves as some sort of Ayton-whisperers who broke through with him late last year. Whether they're proven correct or not with that, time will tell.

And then with Grant I think Cronin is simply doubling down on his questionable decision to resign him in the first place. And expecting a king's ransom even though he probably has relatively few serious suitors. I think the plan is to open the season up with him and cement his trade value a bit more. Don't think it'll work though and would rather just take what we can get right now, which is probably just a crappy expiring contract + a mid 1st equivalent pick.

Yep. It all hinges on Scoot and Sharpe, so bottom of the west seems likely. I don't think Sharpe is special. Those two need a major leap. But you look at the roster and it's like oh yeah huh that's pretty nice. But it's not.

A good coach could make something of this roster but Billups makes all his players look worse than they should.

Given your user name, I really would have expected you to be on team “In the Pooper for Cooper”.
But Capture the Flagg is also a solid choice.
