What he does well
Rebound
Screen
Score around the basket
Pass

His D is terrible-his shooting is not great but passable. I think someone will bite on an expiring Vuc over the summer

GSW should have traded for Vuc even more after the Jimmy trade. He would have fit great with Dray and Jimmy anchoring the defense.

Quinten Post has been giving them what Vuc would've given them at a fraction of the cost. Really no need to make that move from GS's perspective.

Worst FO in the league outside of Nico. Though at least Nico did well before his for all the ages blunder.

The guys making between $15-25 mil per season didn't get traded this deadline. Good players but most in this range also have some warts. DeAndre Hunter basically got dealt for a few SRPs and was the only in this price range to get traded. John Collins is an equally decent player that only garnered a SRP last year mostly due to his contract. I'm guessing the "middle class" contract range will eventually disappear. With this new apron system either you will be an all star type making over $30+ mil or otherwise it will be roleplayers/rookie contract players. No more in between.

Vuc will obviously be an NBA player for a few more years but his next contract will be MLE at best.

Playoff teams just didn't have the contracts to match up with taking on Vuc at $20 mil, not to mention many teams didn't want to commit now to taking on the salary for next season either.

I disagree that he screens well, he and LaVine played together for most of a decade and still couldn't get Zach open off a pick consistently. :noway:

And here's the reason. Two interested teams, both made other moves at the last minute. rest of the market was extremely limited for a midseason $20 mill center.

There wasn’t going to be a great return for him.

People criticized the Bulls for not trading Lavine and then they criticized the Bulls for the return they got back for Lavine.

Because staying at the number one treadmill team in the league is their top priority after the Drose era. Its sad b/c they're still selling out seats, probably due to the history of that guy they have a statue of outside their stadium.

Initially I was frustrated that the single move they needed to make- getting rid of Vuc, didn't happen and they decided to instead sell low on Lavine.

I don't think this is an indictment on Vuc or the FO though, there just weren't enough trade partners. No one had room for a 34 year old guy making 20 mil a year. It just compounds the mistake they made with even resigning him (or trading for him) in the first place.

Quinten Post has been giving them what Vuc would've given them at a fraction of the cost. Really no need to make that move from GS's perspective.

Quinten Post averages 3.4 rebounds. About 7 rebounds per 30 minutes. Vuc averages 10, and is usually around 10 or 11, sometimes 12. Rebounding is a huge factor in centers and Vuc is a far superior rebounder. Post is on a rookie contract, and he's not a starter at all. Post looks good, but GS is a win now team.

GS doesn't lack rebounding, though. They're 3rd in the league. They needed shooting from the 5 position and they are getting it with Post.
