I find it weird, when Cade Cunningham is putting up trash numbers on a trash team, its his teammates fault, but when a guy like Giddey is playing well and putting up stats its because his team sucks or whatever. The bulls have been blown out recently, but Giddeys' recent 20 point games have come in a 2 point loss, a 4 point loss, a9 point win and an 8 point loss, and he was a positive in each game.
I just don't understand how the bad team = inflated stats, but also bad team = terrible stats thing works. People were right about Cade though I guess.

I'll give him this
You can't just absolutely disrespect his 3. You can't just say off into the paint
Teams will adjust to that and he'll go back to shooting like 30%

Hard to think of a player comparison. An in-shape young Boris Diaw?

DrModesty wrote:Giddey came in to the league as a player with 2 very high level skills (passing and rebounding) and everything else being distinctly project level. That is why there was that infamous graphic that essentially said he is bad at basketball.
Most of his project level skills have been slowly iterating and improving. The 3 is improving both in percentage and in volume. He has been playing his career best defense the last couple of months (more blocks and steals, and holding up more consistently against penetration when guarding opposing forwards). His free throw rate is improving.
There is a pretty real chance that by the time he is in his late 20's that he is a vital player to a contending team.
Most underrated part of Giddey has been the clear and steady improvement in shooting %s. He's definitely working to be an efficient scorer with rebounding and assists

Giddey is a great tank commander and perfect in fantasy.
The Bulls don't want to win games so just let Giddey go out there and collect stats and secure the bag.

As FIBA fan, my thoughts going to Australian NT. That team with Giddey and Daniels for years to come, can be very very scary. They also have other top players coming in, Daniels has younger brother who is basically younger copy of Dyson, and in last juniors, they had that 7'2 guy who looked amazing, I believe he is ranked very high as NBA prospect.

He's playing much better in 2025. His defense went from terrible to below average, with some positive plays
His rebounding's been very helpful
He still turns it over too much but his passing is good
Of course his shooting won't stay like this but it's clearly better
I think the Bulls have a keeper. Seems like a good guy too (never knew what happened with the underage girl?)
Bulls have some hope-REALLY need lotto luck but with Ball, Ayo, White, Giddy, Buzelis, Smith, Collins, Huerter we won't be terrible and there's potential. It would make a big difference if PWill could show any signs of life.
Let's say we "capture the Flagg"
Ball/Ayo/White
Giddy/White/Huerter
Matas/PWill/Huerter
Flagg/PWill/Phillips
Collins/Smith
I like Vuc for Nurkic/#37
A deep bench of Terry/Nurkic/Carter/#37
That's a huge starting lineup, and our defense would be solid with great depth. If Flagg's the real deal we'd have a bright future, with all of our picks and the Port pick extra
