Plenty of Cuban decisions over the years (letting Nash walk, messing up the Brunson timeline, total free agency failures to build a team around late Dirk). However, I guarantee every half sane Mavericks fan is now missing the Cuban era with all their heart and soul. Only going to miss him more and more as we stare down the beginning of a likely dark chapter in Mavs history.
Team was almost always good to very good under Cuban. Bought the team in 2000 and then they went to the playoffs in 15 of the next 16 seasons. They were bad for 3 years at the very end of Dirk's career, and then began got straight back to making the playoffs in 4 out of the 5 seasons (they tanked to get Lively after the Kyrie trade and missed a season they could have made it).
The Cuban Mavs won a championship, went to the finals 3 times and the conference finals another two times. They drafted multiple MVP level players. The Mavs under Cuban always had an identity and a star player to rally around.

Cuban has likely entered in to hundreds of partnerships, if not thousands, and would certainly know enough to specify his operational control and duration in the sales contract.
Personally, the only billionaire owner I would trust fulfilling an "operational control agreement" from a minority stakeholder on a handshake would be Warren Buffet. Cuban's story doesn't add up.
Cuban thought that would be the case. It was mentioned by I believe Marc Stein when Cuban said that, that they didn't have anything in writing in the contract details, which is always a bad idea if you want to make sure something actually happens.
Then Cuban was slowly moved out of the daily decisions, but the team was winning, so why would he complain.
It was mentioned again a few months ago in an interview where he said, he doesn't make any decisions anymore, but of course the results (they had come off a finals) were not really one for him to argue against.
This is actually pretty common, especially if you don't get something in writing. You think you will have a specific role with the new regime and they give you the good old, "oh, no, no, sorry".
Now of course maybe if they had sucked it up early, he would have said something and tried to get his way back in, but why would he have made a stink about anything that was happening up until the Luka trade?
If this is true then Cuban is an idiot. Why in the world would he think another billionaire (who has majority stake) let him make key decisions for the Mavs? In what other line of business would this ever happen? Would Cuban have ever agreed to let H Ross Perot continue to make decisions after he bought the team? Hell no. If Cuban didn’t have this in writing and thought he would maintain control he is really stupid.

Don’t forget presiding over 20 years of sexual harassment and assault within the Mavs organization!

They only went to the finals twice. 2006 and 2011.

How do you passionately build a franchise like that, attending every road game and all, only to sell them to a scumbag ownership group who could care less about the team and the sport of basketball? Hell yes Cuban deserves some heat for what's happening to the team.

Cuban was terrible owner. He was just lucky to get one of the most loyal superstars ever. He was never able to build great team around Dirk and one time he did it and they won a championship he didn't bother to keep that team together.
He surely knew what people he sells his team.
I think his passion for Mavericks was more of an image than the real thing. His way to get attention.

Blame them all, don't let anyone hide behind their PR. Conspiracy, incompetence, too fat, whatever the reason is, you don't trade Luka.

The team.that won the title was far from great. They were extremely old. Dirk's 2011 ring is one of the most impressive title runs we've ever had. On paper, it shouldn't have been possible. Cuban was bailed out by Dirk.
