I don't think people get who Nico works for, not people to be taken lightly. And the whole media campaign of Luka is fat, drunkard, and so on, who do you think can put that out? Nico? Come on.

Yes.

From whoever told him to make the trade.

And why did Cuban sell to these guys? Did they make him an offer he could not refuse?

Am i **** missing something here? Do you not need approval from the owner to make trades???

Why is everything being put on this dude as if he's the owner/GM.

If Nico acted alone why wasn't he fired asap?

Owners are getting off the hook. Happens a lot in the NBA i've seen.

He knows the league will get him on the backend.

They've done a great job, intentionally or not, of having Nico absorb all the hate for them.

Of course. Hell, I think he would have taken less heat if the news they were gonna move him even made it public and there was a bidding war.

The whole way this was done reeks of something that he absolutely knew FULL WELL was going to be unpopular and why he did f want to deal with other teams because too many teams meant it could leak he was doing it. At least then tho you can pitch you did your due diligence for the best absolute offer.

The way this was done means there’s no covering for the fact that he knew it was going to be unpopular, he couldn’t get full value because he never properly shopped Luka to get teams bidding against one another, and he didn’t even try to pressure the only team he was negotiating with for max value because he let the Lakers lower the asking price.

So even if there was a world where there was a reasonable argument for moving Luka, his going about it was so amateurish and laughably stupid at every step of the process that it kills his ability to make an argument.

nba gms pretty much always double and triple down on their mistakes because as soon as they have to admit that they ****ed up in a big way the know they are going to be fired. So the idea is to try and keep your job as long as possible.

Kyrie is a bad defender.

Because he's lying.

Honestly I wonder if Harrison is one of these basketball guys not a fan of star European players who thinks they're overrated and none of them play defense other than Giannis. His fascination with AD and Kyrie reeks of someone who is overly impressed by elite American high school prospects and AAU stars. That stereotype of European(white) players is still out there unfortunately and is still voiced by a lot of ex-players so it wouldn't surprise me if they're are some agents and high ups in the world of basketball who kind of feel the same way.

The Mavs and Suns should just merge. We don't need that level of stupidity and incompetence taking over 2 separate franchises that were on the rise.

Again folks, having money =/= intelligence (genius).

So Rick Welts becomes CEO on Jan 1st and Luka is traded a month later. Interesting...

Never seen anything like this - AD didn’t even show up when Luka came to town -

Nico could defend this trade UNTIL we saw Luka and AD on the court together then Luka was so
Much better it wasn’t even remotely close to a fair trade

Must suck so bad to be Nico or the Mavs CEO when you have to continuously lie with a straight face about your real feelings and motives regarding a trade most likely completely set up by the league.

Howie is likely the best current GM in all sports right now!
