It sounds like Zion plans to countersue for defamation. Unfortunately, for those who only read headlines, the damage to his reputation has already been done.

There was a MLB player not that long ago that had his career destroyed over what later came out to be false allegations as part of a plot to sue him civilly. I believe her own friend ultimately revealed the scam. Dirty, dirty stuff.

Only good post in the entire thread. Men have killed themselves due to the fall out/impact of false allegations. Others have had their education, career or livelihoods destroyed.

Rape is a VERY serious allegation. Show me the proof and let's see a trial in court of law. Pursue it in criminal court too. The fact that someone can just come out and ruin someone's reputation without any due process or recourse if found to be fraudulent is ridiculous.

Zion has to do better and be smarter about who he spends time with. This is what you get when you hang around women like Moriah Mills or that girl that Shannon Sharpe was hanging out with.

Who knows if he’s guilty, and we’ll see how it plays out, but I can’t believe how many people who can never even fathom such a violation happening to them are so quick to judge and tell a victim - you shoulda done this, done that, why didn’t you do this…especially when it’s against someone with more power, more resources, more lawyers, more everything.

Again, this accuser could be full of it, but these same attitudes above make already violated victims afraid to step forward.

Actually, we will not see if he's guilty. It's become commonplace for women to bring civil suits without pursuing anything in criminal court (you can do both) The burden of proof in civil court is not beyond a reasonable doubt, it's whether or not it was more likely than not. Personally 51% chance that an event occurred is not a very convincing when talking about something as serious as rape.

Guilt, shame, embarrassment, etc...

I run a mental health facility and work with children, adolescents, and adults. Unfortunately I've had a lot of cases of rape, sexual assault, and abuse. There are a lot of people who wait years or never come forward at all.

The likelihood of multiple people lying, and coordinating their lie, is infinitesimally small. If someone has multiple accusers, they're almost always serial predators.
