It's been 37 years (Lakers/Pistons in '88) since a team cracked 100 in a finals game 7, kinda crazy.

It tends to be the case in game 7s in general. Either they are blowouts (OKC vs Denver) or close rock fights (Tor vs Philly in 2019). Both teams are exhausted and both are feeling the pressure so they tend to play safer.

I understand that the Thunder are a completely different team on the road than home but I think that performance by them has to be a bit concerning. They had a chance to close it out and it's over by halftime? Not ideal. I still expect them to pull out a win Sunday though.

Over/under is 215… The under seems strong.

Yes kinda crazy how it just felt like the game was over after this dunk.

JulesWinnfield wrote:OKCs regular season profile screams historic team, but I’ve never viewed them as such. They have been deserving favorites but even with the 68 wins and the historic point differential I do not rank them among the top 10 teams I’ve seen in my life (been watching since 88). They’ve now been pushed to 7 by a couple of good but flawed teams. I do not think this OKC team beats last years celts, the 23 nuggets (damn near lost to the 25 nuggets) the 22 warriors, the 21 bucks, the 20 lakers. I think this years champ will be the weakest this decade thus far. Ring still counts the same but I just see this as a down year league wide

Tbh, i think last year’s Mavericks were better, too.

OKC is a great team but this is one case where the eye test doesn’t matchup with the numbers telling you this is one of the greatest 10 teams we’ve ever seen. I had 0 confidence in their team to make a comeback once they were down 12+. They aren’t that great of an offensive team to string together a big comeback like that. Outside of Shai, their defense is their best offense but if you aren’t succumbing to their aggressive defense and turning the ball over, you have a real chance. Especially late in the game when OKC offense turns into all out ISO ball.

Under is risky cause both teams didn't shoot well last game, even on open shots from what I saw (so may correct other way) ... Also the scores from past Finals have to go out the window because the pace of this series/teams are so much higher than the past teams.

Pacers +8.5 seems very very likely to me though.

Also why is game 7 on a sunday night - as opposed to Saturday. That s just poor scheduling by the NBA

Im sure it has happened, but I cant ever remember the NBA playing a finals game on a Saturday. It's been played on every other day of the week this century.

This whole finals been weird. They could have at least made game 7 a 12PM or 3PM game so people could get together and enjoy the day together to watch the game.

I really hope not to see all those momentum killing calls that we've been seeing all series. It's bad for the NBA.

The Pacers really should've won this series already.

Don’t think game 7s of the finals or conference finals have ever been during the day, at least not in a very long time. Night time is prime time. Even the Super Bowl starts at night in the east and ends at night in the west.

Yea I just think since its a Sunday and most people would be off and at home. Would be cool to have a whole day event but yea makes sense why they do this.

The finals used to be Tues/Thurs/Sun specifically. I think it changed a couple years after Silver took over. Something like that. So games can be on any day now I think, but game 7 might always be on one of those 3 days. Might even always be Sunday.

Ya agreed. I feel for the east coasters who have to work early Mon. It’s a little surprising that the ultimate prime slot is so late on the east.
