I support obese people confronting their issues and getting in the gym. Would never make fun of a fatty working out as long as they’re trying to improve themselves. While we need to be fair to plus-sized people like Luka, who is still beautiful and brave at any size, him getting into better shape is the best choice long-term for him and his young family.

Good on him.

Guy is a billionaire he could have a private chef make him all the best food during the season.

No excuse for Luka to be eating McDonalds for dinner then scarfing down a family size bag of sour patch kids afterwards

How do you know what his diet is lol? And lets not forget he carried the Mavs to the finals last year, not bad for a fat guy right?

I like Luka, fat, skinny, or otherwise. But blaming America's food for him getting fat makes less than zero sense lol

The NBA had a policy of not testing during play-offs, and after the 4th test of the season, players were promised to have no tests until the off-season

- this is a photo less than 2 months after the 2014 finals. He had been on the same low carb diet Ray Allen used and was something he tried to lose weight in purpose.
- LeBron has a back injury during 2014 playoffs and was told to cut weight and build core during 2014 offseason.
- LeBron had shooting issues to start the 2014-15 season, likely due to his preseason injury.
- LeBron went to Miami for rest that was pushed by the Cavs, LeBron was unhappy with Blatt and the team as a whole. Word is he was moody and annoyed he left Miami. So he was told to go get his head right and meanwhile Cavs added some talent through trades. LeBron played similar, in fact he had better stats before Miami trip than after, but team looked better after Miami.
- HGH testing didn't start until 2015-16 season.

Any potential negatives for him getting too skinny?

His strength seems like a plus on offense by letting him bully slimmer guys

This will help him on defense and stamina of course

You can't count Coop in that equation (which you likely did).

I think skeptical people are going to far.
He's not a headcase like Zion, he might have needed a reality check but he's a winning player.
Moreover, his out of shape criticism was true, but awfully overstated.

I understand the skepticism around this, but after following Doncic from his European tenure and Dallas one, I believe this is unprecedent since his teenage years.

I also believe he was towards the right path in conditioning two seasons ago, but a combination of circumstances derailed his development.

I really hope he will see the best Luka next season.
He may look like an idiot and talk like an idiot but don't let that fool you. He really is an idiot.

He's with Bron now who takes better care of his body, arguably more than anyone in NBA history.

This may stick.

Especially in the season I wonder how much of it is a kind of self medicating for the pain associated with playing and injury. Being healthy in the offseason might actually be the easiest time to be in shape.
