Looks like Billups arrest stems from an illegal poker game. NBA dodged a bullet there, could you imagine a coach getting busted over player props when he has full control over lineups and rotations? That would have shook the foundation of the league.

Letting the gambling business Adelsons buy the Mavericks and everything that has transpired since then as well. The NBA got in bed with the wrong people.

This is true, but even then there are levels to how corrupt these people are. The way these people made their money makes a big difference. Mark Cuban was a risk taking businessman with a good eye for the future for example. He wasn't involved in heavy stuff like the Adelsons are.

Beasley hasn't been cleared by the NBA. That's why he isn't signed. According to the FBI, he's no longer a subject of their investigation but the NBA can take a broader view.

Why don't these guys just take a small percentage of their NBA paycheck and invest it? Just taking 2% off of his yearly pay would have been like $500k per year that could have been growing.
