I bet (hahaha) it was quite a common practice among players and staff just a decade ago. With the chances of getting caught were slim to none.
Nowadays the data science made it much easier to spot suspicious activity based on analyzing statistics, not just if someone spirals completely out of control (like Donaghy)

any home game that is taking rake (a % from each pot that goes to the house)
you can play in home games but they cant rake the pot
