Ohtani is the best baseball player in the world while Yamamoto will win the series mvp. Japan rules baseball.

Game 7 of the 2016 World Series is still the greatest game 7 of all time in my opinion. But with that said, this has to be up there.

Toronto is a massive choker.

Historic event though, what a game and series.

Quite possibly the worst loss in professional sports history. So many missed opportunities. They had this game.

Game 2 - Yamamoto Complete Game
Game 3 - Will Klein 72 pitch hero in a 18 inning game
Game 6 - Yama QS with a wall wedgie and Kiké 7-4 double play
Game 7 - Miggy Rojas game extending solo shot and Yama backing up with no rest to induce the game winning double play

Edit: Seriously K I K E is a slur of some sort?

It's a racial slur for Jewish people.

Wow what a game and series. Not the biggest or knowledgeable Baseball fan around, but i do know they will be talking about this world series in 50/100 years from now.

Congrats to Dodgers fans and sincere condolences to Blue Jay fans. I cannot imagine the pain they must be feeling, definitely one that got away.

One of my very best online friends is a mad Dodgers fan along with her husband from LA, she would be absolutely thrilled right now.

This was a game and series for the ages. Both teams and players and managers deserve our thanks

Yes, against Jews. Obviously the guy's name has nothing to do with that and is pronounced differently.

What a series.

Props to Blue Jays, they're one tough sob to beat. It was a great series, best I've ever seen.

There's fireworks here in LA like it's 4th of July! :D

I just remember years ago, I encountered someone who said, "JAPANESE can't pitch".

After Yamamoto's MVP performance:

Did the Dodgers hit above the Mendoza line?

I heard a stat that no team has ever won a WS while hitting below the Mendoza line

Edit: Turns out Will Smith's HR brought the Dodgers to hitting 0.203 for the series

I was going to make an argument for the 97 world series but this goes beyond that. Cleveland simply blew the lead in the ninth and lost it on a walk off while failing to obtain any real base running possibilities. The blue Jays had so many opportunities and they were squandered. This really was their game to lose.

It's awful because their turnaround story is incredible. They just couldn't finish the job.

Unreal series. It had it all. Hate it for the Jays.
What Yamamoto did was as impressive as anything in any sport for a while. Throwing almost 40 pitches and getting the win AFTER throwing 97 pitches last night. Hate the Dodgers but I love that grit
