DEN gets the tired Wolves on the second night of a back-to-back. Again. Who knows.

I imagime Adelman will start Watson

CB provides the main target for rhe Nuggets transition game, while also providing secondary ball handling and a bit of playmaking, with above average perimeter defense and decent floor spacing

THJ has never met a shot he didn't like, no hessitation and thus is more suited to being a spark plug and to bring instant offense in spurts, off the bench and vs. opposition's second units

Nuggets are trying to establish a more defensive identity, like they had in 2023 and are also implementing new schemes on defense.

THJ will be hunted on D (in any scheme) but in the current schemes, there's no way it can work with THJ and he's aging, on the back end of his career and it won't have enough in the tank for offense or defense as a full time starter vs. 1st units

Moreover, the Nuggets prefer to play big. They gave some of that size up when they traded MPJ for Cam. If u add THJ over CB, now u have a backcourt of Murray and THJ and that's just not gonna cut it against good playoff teams

Watson (unlike CB), didnt sign an extention this summer and is set to become an RFA. I hope that fact won't be part of the equation (similarly to how the Dubs marginilized Kuminga)

If we're talking strictly basketball, Watson makes more sense as a starter for Braun

while being a worse shooter, playmaker and floor spacer, Nuggets would still have decent spacing (not ideal obviously) while adding size, defense etc. Watson can also take Braun's role as a reciecer, the guy who leakes out in transition, becomes the main target for Jokic's outlet passes

If Watson wants to show the Nuggets why they should pay him long term, now's the perfect time to demonstrate his case

He started the season poorly offensively, starting may be just what the doctor ordered for his season

If not Watson, i'd imagine Bruce B will also be considered for CB's spot and that too, makes alot more sense than THJ
