Yeah, because its Greens fault that Orleans is a flaming dumpster. Why not fire the equipment manager? Athletic trainer?

That team, needs to be moved, and reset.

Is it bad if you trade an unprotected 1st in the next draft before the season starts, then fire your head coach 12 games into the season?

Do they expect borrego(who was already on the staff with the 2-10 start) to turn it around? Lol I get how it all works, but it's just kinda ridiculous.

This is just Dumars trying to shift blame from himself. We all Everyone except Dumars and Weaver knew this roster was not competing in the west.

Fixed.

He was starting the ghost of Kevon Looney over the guy they mortgaged their future for.

Should be Dumars. How did he get another GM job?

Borrego was brought in for this very moment. He has experience and is a bit tougher, organized. Roster issues notwithstanding, Zion is not a reliable player, Green can both be pitied and this can be the right play, based on Green's body of work and feedback here from fans who watch the team on a regular basis.

Dumars made a huge risky move but it was part of a plan, I believe one Grizz are on, which is 1. have a timeline to make things work with your star 2. if/ when it doesn't, move on. I believe we are far closer to 2 for both teams based on their drastic moves.

Dumars traded for Queen and got bent over for it as a Zion buoy/replacement and because the cost was so high it forces the team to try to be competitive, like Hawks when they traded for Murray. They did well in their return for him, and Pels can do well in their return for Zion who is afterall still young and actually competes and is electrifying when he plays. His issues are not Morant's and neither is his on court attitude.

When the return is whatever it is, Borrego, a new voice, and a more balanced roster (KAT? I've long thought NYK traded for him as a Zion flip - this is my player/team on a long winding path towards one another interpretation) will do better.

Pels have talent. Hopefully Borrego can better channel the sum of their parts.

Another uneducated RealGM poster. Unless you know Gayle is dying. As long as she is alive, the team is going nowhere. Now, she blows as an owner, but she has to die for the team to move. Try reading about her if you've moved on from pictures books.

I do not see Adrian doing much with a terrible roster but he could turn it around next year or so if Adrian gets hired

He deserved to be fired but it also reeks of Dumars/Weaver trying to shift blame for the team's poor start when the roster construction is just as bad.

GM David Griffin traded away the talent Willie Green had winning seasons with. Now, Joe Dumars has the job, and some drastic changes have occured. Pel fans need a team they can be proud about.

Things can then around in a surprisingly short amount of time if you get the right off field personnel involved (aka The Detriot Pistons 2 years ago)

Alas Joe Dumars doesn't inspire any kind of confidence whatsoever he can fix the Pels

I’d keep Murphy and Jones unless I got an offer I couldn’t refuse and trade Zion for whatever I could get. Move Poole just to get him away from your young guys, even if it means taking on another bad contract. Let Murray try to rehab his value midseason, then trade him, if possible.

Also, play Queen and Missi together to see if it can be a Karl-Anthony Towns/Mitchell Robinson type pairing, with Queen playing the Towns role and Missi playing the Robinson role.

Towns can stretch the floor but Queen and Missi both can't

It's a shock therapy. Change made for change in lockeroom for players than anything else. They might think players didnt respond well enough to Green's coaching and might think other guy gonna get through players better. It's ridiculous. But when you sucker as Pelicans and whole organization with terrible owner and even more terrible GM, those are kind of ideas which they get.

Every season there always that one team that gets "the dumpster fire of the year award" and New Orleans is running away with it this year fast and early!
