Varejao scoring 101. That would definitely shut up the haters. Then again they might say that flopping allowed the Cavs to get more possessions than the opposing team.

Your logic is dumb. This is like saying "If Bruce Bowen scored 100 pts he would shut up the haters... than again they might say that intelially injuring players gave him an advantage"

101 is amazing and all, but I'm not big on scoring..I watched Kobe's 81, and it was amazing, especially watching it live on TV as it was going, but it's not something I'm going to remember forever..

if the 101 happened during a playoff game, I'd have to think hard about it..Jordan's game vs. Boston stands out in my mind..

Jason Kidd with 101 points. That would instantly end the "he can't shoot talk" which is why it would never happen lol

This is why you take 101.

I remember that Bulls team. I watched them win those games live. I was a Jordan fan like most everyone else. However, would I have known off the top of my head they had 72 wins without even thinking about it? Probably not. I certainly remember they broke 70, but whatever.

On the flip side, I've never seen Wilt play. Never have seen a full replay of that game. But if you asked me the NBA record for points scored in a game, 100 flies out of my mouth instantaneously. As it would of any NBA fan, old or young.

It's simply a more historic record.

this is so obvious, i always take the team before, win 73 regular season games much better for me.

73 wins even with a choke. All the highest scoring games, except for Kobe's 81, were the result of teams point stuffing. That's basically what it's going to take to hit 101.

It would be nice to see LO hit 101 though. Knowing LO it would probably be the quietest 101 imaginable. You'd probably think he had 35 until you saw the box score. Seriously, earlier in the season he had a quiet 25 and 15!

73 wins if you dont win the title would be heartbreaking for me, dont you think Pats fans will be absolutely devastated if they lose the superbowl?
On the flip side 101 points would never be a disappointment i dont think.

Here is a question though - what is more likely; Balkman scoring 101 points or the knicks winning 73 games?

what about assuming in both instances the team wins the championship?

I was already assuming that.

73 wins.

Yes, that would suck very badly. Eli would get his 1st and we'd be 18-1 damn. I like 19-0 better.

Ben Wallace would score 101 points in one game and still have 5ppg on the season.
