Still...the dumbest thing I've ever read. What's the point of his sitting out so that he can recuperate and try to salvage a season that's already lost?

nobody thats "hurt" should play in the Skills Challenge! So much body contact and competitiveness in that competition. Hes crazy for going out there hurt, he must be faking it.

To the OP...go back and crawl under your rock. Dribbling taking a couple jump shots and a layup is all the skills competition is. It is no Iron Man contest. Fans want to see stars during the All STAR weekend! Thankfully the NBA ignores haters like you.

I wouldn't have a problem if D Wade took the rest of the season off. The Heat suck and top 3 pick would let them start fresh next year. If you could somehow get Shaq healthy and under 400 pounds next year, along with a healthy Wade and perhaps a Rose or a Beasley, your right back in the mix in the eastern conference. Just my two cents.
Serious sport has nothing to do with fair play. It is bound up with hatred, jealousy, boastfulness, disregard of all rules and sadistic pleasure in witnessing violence: in other words it is war minus the shooting.

I heard a rumor that Barkley is going to drop Wade from his fav. 5 if he doesn't reach 10 wins in the next week.

His individual stats say otherwise. He's one the BEST scorers in the league, and he was VOTED in by the fans.

The ASG isn't how well your team faired or not, but how you as an individual faired, right or wrong; that's just how it is....

He is putting up stats on the worst team in the league. He is nothing more than an Al Jefferson and I hope this is the last year he is voted an all-star starter when he isn't worthy.

Wade isn't hurt.........it's just a way for Miami fans to justify his inability to carry a team as the #1 option.

I agree 100 percent, Wade is a good player but not the player some billed him up to be. He is another Vince Carter type of player not a Lebron James type.

your wrong, if that were the case we would have seen Shareef Abdur Rahim in there more during the time he was averaging 20 and 9 (his first 8 seasons in the league) and we would have seen Al Jefferson this year whos putting up 22/12 and the Timberwolves get in, and speaking of this year if it doesnt matter what team your on or the record of that team then why the hell wasnt Marcus Camby put in the game. Elton Brand? He has been one of the best two way players in the game since entering the league but on a bad team. Even more evidence of how wrong you are is that the one year Brand did get voted in was when the Clippers made the playoffs.

Wade has something Carter has never even come close to sniffing, and something LBJ fell short of last-season.

So, of COURSE he's not the same type of player as them. Duh!

Hence, I clearly said:

But, I digress.....

You're wrong, too. It's about popularity. Winning tends to breed it, and so does marketing. Wade is in because his numbers are very good, he's very recognizable, and up until this year, he's won. KG always got in, too. If Wade doesn't deserve it, neither did KG.

Do you think Wade would be deserving of an all star spot if he wasnt voted in?

KG was never on the worst team in the league and was always voted in too.

Honestly, being a basketball fan not a Heat fan, do you believe that Dwyane Wade is deserving of an All Star spot over players that have played well resulting in the team getting wins? Any player with a 9-37 record is not an all star in my book and nor should it be in any others. With the coaches voting its not about popularity it comes down to a mix of playing well on a good team and players that play well on a bad team get the "well his numbers would be worse if he were on a better team" schpeel.

I absolutely, without question, believe he should be an allstar.

Or you get people who say Wade can't "carry" a team because he isn't 100%. (I don't expect him to carry them to the championship or even the playoffs but at least a .500 record).

Fans? There are articles from actual medical staff about the whole ordeal.

That is why fans say what the say.

It's the All-Star game. Why not play and enjoy yourself for ONCE this year?

Seriously. This is the most idiotic thread on RealGM. Congrats.

Lemme guess, you think Jose Calderon or Hedo Turkoglu are more of an allstar then Dwayne Wade? Or do you think it should have been Ray Allen, even though Boston already had two alltars.
