Lakers played both teams near the end of the season. They had a 30 point lead over NOH and lost it but still ended up winning by like 5. Then they blew out SAS by 20 or 25 but they didn't have Manu.
Pau guarded Duncan very well with his length as I recall and the Spurs just couldn't score. The only problem with facing SAS though would be that Bowen is dirty so he'll try to hurt Kobe's finger and back.
BTW I can't see Duncan or Oberto trying to guard Lamar Odom off the dribble.

I will shoot myself in the foot if there is a Spurs/Pistons final....
Hahaha yeah another Pistons/Spurs final would be....
but as a jazz fan personally, i think it would be the only way to get over the fact that we lost to the lakers in round 2. but my mind has me thinking Lakers in 5

Are you peoples kidding me??? If New Orleans advances, that means they just beat the last two West champs! plowed through 2007 MVP Dirk and hall of famer Kidd, and ran past the defending champs in 7 with an average margin of victory of 20. No way they lose to the ROFLakers after beating all of that.
If the Spurs make it though, I think the Lakers have the advantage.

???The Bulls beat the "champs" last year in Miami before they got thoroughly raped by Detroit. Beating the champ doesn't make you the any more likely at beating another team. Spurs last year didn't have to go through the Hornets and Lakers of this year so you can't use last year as an example. This year is a whole new ball game and the Lakers match up very well with the Hornets. That series would be done in 5, with the Lakers heading to the finals.

They mentioned a stat yesterday that Kobe had shot 26% in the 4th quarter in the series against Utah.
its comical how much you hate kobe. if you haven't noticed, the number of shots he has taken in the 4th has been pretty low, except for that OT game. against the jazz in the 4th he would turn into more of a playmaker, slashing and kicking out.
Warspite:
Prince + filler for Kobe Bryant
To be honest the way Prince has played and with Kobes injury/age/mileage Im not sure I would do that deal either. Still Prince is more important and he wins the head to head battles with Kobe.

How can you say that? I mean Kobe being your boy and all. So what is everyone going to say if Kobe leads the Lakers to finals and wins the best player on the team?.......

Because the guy said Kobe wins by himself. My point is that if that is the case he wouldn't shoot 26% in the 4th when the team needs him the most. The team needs him, but Gasol and Odom's play speaks for itself.
Gasol = 18.5 ppg and 8.3 rpg, 3bpg on 56% fg in round 2
Odom = 18.2 ppg and 11.7 rpg, 2 bpg on 59% fg in round 2
I think the point to be drawn is wing players can't carry a team in the playoffs. You might be able to ride a dominate big man to a title, but even a fantastic perimiter guy like Kobe still will only go as far as the bigs take him.

I don't hate the guy, I don't hate anyone, why should I, he hasn't done anything to me.

seeing Kobe lead the Lakers to a title would just be a strange, unexplainable phenomenon..it would be like having a UFO encounter..
I wouldn't even mind it that much(if the Spurs aren't involved), it's just that I'm going to feel REALLY bad for parents that are gonna be raising kids that look up to Kobe..it's gonna be a sad day when they start learning about his past..I feel bad for those parents having to break the bad news to their kids..it's gonna be like explaining the Easter Bunny and Santa Clause..

Good point. It's a shame that you don't watch the games and just the box scores or else you would have seen what Kobe did in the last 6 minutes of the 4th quarter
5:16 Kobe Bryant personal foul (Matt Harpring draws the foul)
4:54 Kobe Bryant makes 25-foot three point jumper
4:20 Kobe Bryant makes 22-foot two point shot
4:20 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 1 of 1
3:36 Paul Millsap blocks Lamar Odom's layup
3:17 Pau Gasol bad pass
2:55 Lamar Odom traveling
2:12 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 1 of 2
2:12 Kobe Bryant makes free throw 2 of 2
1:35 Kobe Bryant misses 18-foot jumper
1:13 Kobe Bryant defensive rebound

With his team reeling and Pau Gasol choking and Phil Jackson doing nothing to justify all that jewelry he's accumulated thanks to Michael Jordan and Shaquille O'Neal and, yes, Kobe Bryant, Bryant took over against the Utah Jazz.
He stopped passing to teammates.
He stopped looking at teammates.
And why not? His teammates sucked. Gasol couldn't hang on to the ball on offense and couldn't grab a board on defense. Lamar Odom had completely shrunk from the moment. The Lakers' bench showed itself to be slow and scared. Jackson spent most of the timeouts, even the ones he called, doodling on his notepad near the foul line while Utah coach Jerry Sloan was doing something revolutionary on the other bench -- coaching to his team.
And still it wasn't enough. Not with Odom missing a lay-up and Gasol throwing a pass out of bounds and Odom traveling. Not with Gasol being unable to stop one-dimensional Mehmet Okur from getting open 3-pointers. Not with Gasol and Odom -- 14 feet of invisible -- grabbing nary a rebound in the final 10 1/2 minutes, allowing the Jazz to hoist shot after shot until something finally fell.
I'm so tired of the typical......
