An absurd majority of people think he's better than both those guys.
Count me in that group too.

I would say the majority of the RealGM community post with the 'what have you done for me lately' mind set.

Also, for the people saying that I made this thread because of what Manu has done lately or that I'm going off the "What have you done for me lately" mindset, well that's untrue. The reason I made this thread is because I truly feel Manu is overrated and secondly because of the "Top 5 SGs of this century" thread on the PC board.

But you know that if you had created this thread in the summer of 2005, there really wouldn't be any discussion. Heck, if you had created this thread after a good Ginobili game, there'd be a lot less debate.

When Ginobili is going to his left he can be the 2nd best SG in the league. But take away his left and he's basically just a spot up shooter. Vujacic is just beating him to his spots and staying attached to his left hip. The guy just can't go right. It's pretty remarkable that he has had such a successful career by just driving to one side.

That's a close one. I would say Manu. He's a perimeter player and handles the ball more, so he relies on his dribble drive more than Odom. Odom can mix it up in the paint with his post-up skills, and still impact a game with his rebounding and interior passing.
But Manu has been able to get away with it his entire career, so what we're seeing now is just a crippled Manu. And the whole idea of him not having a right hand is a little overblown. How many right-handed players actually go left? Not many. Even if he had a right hand it wouldn't make a big difference because he just doesn't have any burst right now. Plus Sasha is an annoying little bitch (term of endearment, I love the guy).

Manu is hard to rank because he is so inconsistent. When he's hot, he's as good as anyone on the wings, he just seems unstoppable. When he's screwing up.... he's screwing up bad. The spurs are great though because they have two guys who give consistent offense, so Manu is only needed to do so much, but if he heats up, they are near unbeatable.

^^^ Pretty much. However, I think the fact that he's inconsistent is pretty good argument for why he's not the "2nd best SG in the league". Guys like Wade, AI, etc... would have a little something to say about that. However, people saying this stuff about Manu is not out of the ordinary. He had a very good season and people have short term memories. Which is probably the reason for the timing of this very thread.
