He went to college at Marquette. Not only will he get to the hall of fame, but he'll have a building dedicated to him. :)

You guys act like he's a sure thing to bow out with injuries. He came back too early two years ago from the 06-07 injury of a dislocated shoulder which he got going for a steal (not on a slashing drive). It was a freak injury. He injured his knee trying to come back early from that for the playoffs that year, then in 07-08 he came back too early from the surgeries he had to fix both after the 07 playoffs, so it lingered all of this season. Basically the past two seasons were a result of 1 injury that was unrelated to his 'style of play'. The two seasons before he was completely healthy. (75 and 77 games). He will miss a game here and there with ankle and wrist sprains because of the nature of his play, but his two biggest injuries (Hip pointer in first year, dislocated shoulder/left knee in 06-08) were the type of injuries that could hit a 3 point shooter, they were just unlucky.

He has had since March and will have his first extended offseason (missing last two months of season, no extended playoff run, may or may not be on olympic squad) and by all reports is looking fantastic. I don't think he's HOF if he was to bow out soon though. He needs a few more seasons of play.

In regulation that is. That game vs. Orlando still pisses me off even now...how do you torch a team for 48 Minutes and then suddenly choose to defer to ice cold teammates (save maybe Daequan Cook) in Overtime? That's how they lost if I remember correctly. Maybe next season when he's healthy ( ) we won't be seeing this crap ever happen again. I'd like to see a career high that doesn't result in a painful loss in Overtime.

I don't think 2-3 all-star years are quite enough to put him in the Hall of Fame, but he'd be very close with that resume already.

Some of the hate that he's received in the thread is absolutely ridiculous. Did he get the benefit of countless fouls by some of the worst refereeing ever in the 2006 Finals? Yes, but I don't think anyone appreciates how bad that Heat team was by championship standards, partly because Shaq was so overrated that year. In my opinion, Wade was the #1 option and he did not have a #2 guy in the Finals.

(That being said, I look for a great year from the Heat. Marion will do more for the Heat than Shaq did, and Beasley/Rose will pay huge dividends.)

Antoine Walker was second on the team in scoring

No Wade wouldn't get in, I doubt if he will get in period with his injury history.

Heck no.

He has to win at least 2 more rings and an MVP to be a hall of famer.

let me ask you guys this...if penny hardaway would have won that ring in 95 would he be considered a hall of famer? i don't think so. Wade will not get in for 1 good run. He really does need to get a jump shot or else his career will be short. For all the people arguing he has a great jump shot, just look at the chart people are putting up and you will know his mid range game is bad.

Penny Hardaway wasn't the best player on that team. Penny Hardaway didn't have an absolutely historic Finals showing.

I agree that Wade doesn't get in if his career is over or probably if it ends in 3 years. But Wade isn't Penny Hardaway.

wade wouldn't have been the best player either on that 95 magic team either. If wade doesn't get a jumpshot and keeps getting injured he will be known as penny hardaway. I can bet this back in 95 hardaway had more fans than wade did when he reached the finals. Penny and shaq is what attracted me to basketball and i know many other people that feel the same. Hardaway once was a great player and was compared to magic johnson.

again you probably never saw grant hill play in a pistons uniform and don't know how great he was. penny and hill once were compared to likes of jordan and magic but you kids wouldn't know anything about that.

It isn't about whether he would be the best player on the 95 team, it's the fact that even if the Magic won the 95 championship, Penny would not have been the best player on a championship team. Wade was the best player on a championship team. Wade had a Finals appearance that is up there with the best of Jordan, West, Duncan, etc.

Penny had alot of fans for alot of reasons, one of which was Lil' Penny, right when Chris Rock was getting big. It's not all about basketball skills when it comes to his popularity.

I'm not understanding the Penny Hardaway and Grant Hill comparisons. Neither of them led their teams to an NBA Championship and was named NBA Finals MVP (over Shaq, something Kobe never even did).
All comparisons to either player is irrelevant, because in their entire 10-15 year careers, they never achieved what Wade did in his first 3 NBA seasons.

In my opinon, Wade will return 100% healthy next year and play out a long NBA career that will end in his HOF induction.

Wade's mid-range game is less than 1% difference then Kobe's, so if Wade has a bad mid-range game so does Kobe.
