Wagner is playing at home, but this is also the biggest game of his career. I think he's a stud, but Rudy played against prime Kobe, so he won't be worried about squat. Franz is definitely the more explosive scorer and can erupt for 30, which is something most likely won't be doing anytime soon.

Also Germany had 5 players in last game with 2 digit scoring numbers. I think Obst was shooting 3's really well. They have a lot of fire power. If Spain will be sleeping at all on the perimeter defense Germany will punish them. We'll see if Spain has an answer for that German firepower. Personally I think that Germany wins that game.

Fun fact about team Finland. The team of this Eurobasket had top-5 best Finnish players of all time in the team in some roles. Hanno Möttölä (yes it's not Mottola as some think) and Rannikko as assistant coaches. As players, Koponen, Salin and Markkanen. That's the top-5. Koponen retired now after the tournament, because his hips are completely done. He can barely run anymore. He doesn't seem like the coaching type, but I already know that he has a coaching job with a team in Finland. He'll be a skill coach or so. I'm not so sure that he will become a long time coach though. He doesn't seem that type to me.

Is there a Youtube channel which shows highlights and post game interviews?

Americans: these tournaments are meaningless because they are all based on luck since it's do or die.
Also Americans: We are the best since we always win at the Olympics (one of those tournaments)

Americans: Whenever team USA loses in FIBA it's a fluke and we are still the best.
Also Americans: Wohoo March Madness baby!! Don't you love a good Cinderella story and Duke University getting bounced in the second round?

P.S. If you want international basketball to have best of three series you have to force the NBA to be less greedy. Too many regular season games.

Eurobasket predates the NBA by 15 years as a tournament btw. To put into perspective why this tournament is so important to us Europeans.

Nah, completely different names for us Slovenians. It may sound all the same to the non native speaker but in reality it's not. For us it's the same as example Sadie and Katie or Chloe and Zoe for you.

If I met two sisters named Chloe and Zoe I would actually find it quite amusing. Not a good example. :D

Yeah, it was quite obvious that Koponen wasn't fit enough to play anymore. It was just a last hurrah for a great player.

Thanks, good stuff.

No interviews with Luka or Jokic yet.

Or Giannis after their losses.

This one has some "extended" highlights and analysis too, but they need about 1-2 days to upload content.

Finland actually plays better as a team than Slovenia does, and Finland is I think more physical also. So yeah, I really don't think Poland beating Slovenia is that big of an upset. It is an upset certainly, but not that big of one, and not at all surprising for me.

Poland was very physical and the refs let the game go that way and let both teams play very physical. So it made it where Luka couldn't go off for 40 points, and the rest of the team couldn't do much. Dragic was just flopping trying to get bail outs from the refs. They had nothing on offense really other than Luka.

It's another example of how NBA only fans don't seem to understand FIBA, because Luka can't just make up his mind to get 40 points, like he can in the NBA. The other team is allowed to play real defense and to really compete against star players in FIBA. That is all banned in the NBA. Poland competed against Luka and played physical, so that is that. In the NBA, Luka probably scores 50 in such a game. So it might seem like some huge upset, if that is how you are viewing it, but it's not how it works with these FIBA rules and refs.

On the other hand, Italy beating Serbia was definitely a classic type of upset.

Same opinion here.
NBA wants some players to score many points in order to have some heros and superstars.
Never understood why Doncic can score 30ppg.
Great basketball iq and fundamentals yes but he is not an athlete.

I think that if the same players of NBA played with FIBA rules, some different players would emerge as real superstars.

I do believe that many NBA stars are constructed via referees. They don't allow opponents play defense to them and they shoot 15ft per game without getting fouled

I wish we could all enjoy FIBA tournaments for what they are.
The Milwaukee Bucks are NBA Champions.

When we have some star players participating, I do believe those FIBA tournaments are the superior basketball product. Easily better than the NBA, and I can list about 10 reasons.

Having said that, the reason why those stars are not in Europe is because America loves the game more, pays for it more, and therefore deserves them more. Europe can suck it, they don't deserve great players. Shame but it is what it is, it's soccer country.

I can’t get all the way there with you that it’s a superior product, but it’s definitely a flavor of basketball I love.

When Giannis gets back home to Milwaukee he’s going to miss the atmosphere created by the Greek fans but be grateful for his NBA teammates and coaches.

Doncic used to much energy for the referees, better could use it on defence.

The US is American Football country.

The gulf between NFL and NBA revenues and profits is immense.

Probably not as big as futbol and Euro basketball revenues and profits.

But NBA can put on 82 regular season games so it has a big revenue base, to pay those super max contracts.

Great game and congrats to Poland, but I cannot keep thinking how great and historical this win could have been if they pulled it out with Polish players and without your random american AJ Slaughter.

As for Slaughter, those who say he is not even good, well why is he on the team at all then?

Prediction for the rest of the tournament: France will win the championship.
