Could a dude lead the league in all 3 categories!?!

MJ, LBJ?

If Jokic was too pull that off we would have to consider him in the goat convo right ?

The NBA's version of the triple crown

Which is crazy to think about but that's what Jokic needed to do just to get the Nuggets season back on track.

If his scoring goes up that means nuggets are missing other players from injury and will lose too many games. It's one or the other, MVP or scoring title. He can get the rebounds and assists leaders and MVP though

Oh how convenient.
Tatum’s points go down last year so he has to go down the MVP list.
SGA’s points go down this year but apparently that doesn’t matter.

it's just 12 games, do you have any doubt the Bucks will finish at least 4th in the East?
Giannis is posting 33.3 ppg (#1 in the league), 12.5 Rebs and 5.5 AST with only 2.8 To's on 63 TS% - that's pretty wild.
ORTG 124, DRTG 111 - Bucks have been really good with him on the floor

he's got the worst coach in the league, his co-star has been chucking 9+ 3's a game converting only on like 34.5%, his number 3 is a max player sitting on the bench in street clothes and has yet to play this season and Brook Lopez will turn 37 in a couple of months

the Bucks won't stay down for too long and even as it stands, that type of season trumps a few wins. guys shouldn't get credit for what their teammates are doing. for example, Tatum or Mitchell haven't been better or more valuable to their teams than Giannis thus far in this short season

True but I also don’t think the media is in any rush to reward Giannis with anything as he has had a hand in some of the Bucks misfortunes as of late. I refuse to believe that they don’t trade Jrue without his blessing or fire Bud without his blessing as well. Maybe he didn’t call for Doc but he certainly vouched for Griffin and look how that worked out. Giannis has been great but he’s also had a hand in some of the Bucks mess so it’s hard to feel too sympathetic.

They might end up 4th in the east and it’d be equivalent to 9th or 10th in the west lol

Naw dude it’s not that deep-

I think it’s a one man show (jokic) and if you say Tatum over SGA at 3 no problem- if you say Tatum at 2- no problem -

It’s jokic 1 and a whole bunch of guys at 2-6 interchangeably

It’s way to early in the season to know that it’s not like 8 teams in the west are winning 50 games **** will start evening out.
Giannis pull up jump shot is the best it’s ever been and so have his little hook shots. Last nite his form on free throws looked fluid if he can consistently keep that up is the key to his and the bucks season.

Unless the Cavs wins 70+ games and he significantly ups his numbers, he’s not winning it.

If the Cavs end up with the best record this season because Donovan Mitchell was the best and most valuable player this season then he should be MVP.

They’re 4-8

If Giannis doesn’t qualify at 4 and 8 does Luka qualify at 5 and 7 with much worse game tape?

Asking for a friend ??

This has been the weirdest season every- between the cavs, curry and lebron going back in time, bucks and philly and now Mavs sucking - it’s all odd

I do think luka still a mvp candidate every with today being the worse 37 point game ever and a bad record- but it’s Luka

But Giannis now should be in the poll- his numbers are just too good at this point

I know you don't like the guy, but no one really talks about Luka here in the last couple of days, we obviously know he's not in the race at the moment. Giannis isn't either, but probably closer to joining it.

Imagine actually thinking a 23/4/4 guy deserves MVP because a team in the cakewalk East wins 5 to 10 more games than a Jokic led team in the west.

sure...lol

Mitchell: ORTG 115, DRTG 111
that is, the Cavs with Mitchell on the floor score 115 PTS per 100 possesions and get scored on 111 PTS

conversly:

Mobley: ORTG 118, DRTG 107
Garland: ORTG 126, DRTG 113
Allen: ORTG 132, DRTG 106

Mitchell is having a good season but come on now..

I get that the Cavs are undefeated but they're doing it by commitee. Tatum didn't win it last year despite being 1st in the standings by a mile and playing better than Mitchell has been playing this season. Booker (or CP3 who was the real driver) didn't win it in 2022 despite having the best record which was much better than the real MVP contenders records

in 2025, 23/4/4 does not an MVP make :noway:

besides, you can make ten different good arguments about Mitchell NOT being the best or most impactful player on this Cavs team so "best team best player" doesn't really apply :)

I’m thinking the same thing- Giannis earned a spot in the poll but not in top 5

I think it’s Giannis 6 and Luka 7 at this point

Luka and Giannis are top 10. That’s about all that can be said for them with their records.

The Bucks are missing Middleton, have multiple rotation players shooting career low from 3, and they have played the Cavs and Celtics four times. Record is irrelevant.
