In another life he would’ve made a killer safety.

(Kornet is bolded because this comes from a Kornet article but I thought the list would be good fodder for the defense thread.)

DFG% outside of 6 feet from the hoop is basically just noise FWIW. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/defense-dash-lt6?PerMode=Totals

Kornet still looks pretty good if you just look at shots near 6 feet of the basketball

He damn sure has. I just want Kerr to straight jacket, shackle, and gorilla glue Kuminga to the bench and life is good.

Dyson Daniels
Amen Thompson
Jalen Williams
Evan Mobley
Jaren Jackson Jr

Toumani Camara
Kris Dunn
Draymond Green
Ivica Zubac
Rudy Gobert

If there was a 3rd team...

Andrew Nembhard
Alex Caruso
Lu Dort
Ausar Thompson
OG Anunoby

Other guys I still think about: Jaden McDaniels, Jayson Tatum, OG Anunoby, Derrick White, Dorian Finney-Smith, Cason Wallace, Walker Kessler, Goga Bitadze, NAW, Jarrett Allen, Isaiah Hartenstein, Tari Eason, Bam Adebayo, Giannis, Andre Jackson Jr., Ant, Al Horford, Jrue, Dillon Brooks, Aaron Gordon, Christian Braun, Keegan Murray.

Allow me to add

Jaylen Wells
GP2
Keon Ellis
Mason Plumlee
Haywood Highsmith
Jimmy Butler
Brandin Podz
Naz Reid

I don’t watch the Knicks. Have Bridges and Hart regressed? Totally understandable if they have given the recent and totally unsurprising Thibs controversy.

Hart is not really a good defender. He's a great hustle player and an exceptional rebounder but he often lacks focus and discipline on the defensive end.

Mikal has been above-average on defense with some definitive highlights but he hasn't been a significant difference-maker on the whole defensively. His defense has been a bit disappointing, especially when you factor in his lighter offensive burden.

Draymond should always be in the discussion.

I completely agree, but I'm wondering why you feel this way.

Not to derail the DPOY thread, it’s arguably the best one here.

His dribble/ pass/ shoot profile is pretty bad. He regularly bricks open threes and first FTs. Low awareness on both ends, always reactionary, slow processing speed, especially for the warriors who are now such a high IQ ball movement and defensive string team with Butler. He shows everyrhing down. His feel, or lack thereof drives me crazy. His screens are meh and he never talks on defense. He’s the wing equivalent of Terry Rozier.

Spencer, Santos, and Moody (putting up crazy metrics since Jimmy arrived) are all better players above the shoulders. Taking possible minutes away from Podz for him is almost criminal. After rarely (and smartly) playing Tatum and Haliburton I would hope Kerr puts the health of the team paramount over any feelings he may have for Kuminga and his impending contract. He’s just a great, athletic frame who can draw fouls at a high rate, then
brick the FTs.

Feels like Mobley lost Dpoy Imo

hes been getting targetted a helluva ton recently. Hes incredible in help but guards and wings have been cooking him during their losing streak kind of like how Rudy was targetted. Thats some **** players werent doing to a Ad, Bam or Draymond.

Kd absolutely cooked him. That little white guard Phoenix has was randomly calling for a screen to get Mobley switched onto him...............Harden was making him do the salsa the other day. Kings abused him in isos last game. Its been rough for him.

What Amen Thompson did to Herro in their reunion since the body slam almost made me feel sorry for him. 6 of his 7 steals were on Herro, and I think a block? He was headhunting him all night, Herro looked shook.

Surprised Herro got to keep his shoes after that encounter.

Cleveland's defense has been lethargic over the past 3 games.

However, I watched Phoenix/Cleveland and have no idea what you're talking about. KD was guarded by De'Andre Hunter for most game. The only possessions I remember Mobley guarding KD was around the 6 minute mark in the 4th quarter when Mobley blocked his pull up jumper, and Mobley switching onto him in the 1st quarter and KD hitting the pull up. He started the game on KD, but Phoenix ran plays to draw switches.

Mobley and KD didn't even share the court that much, as Phoenix ran KD+bench lineups in the 1st and 3rd quarters to blow this game open. Did you check the boxscore and hope for the best?

I honestly have no idea how Draymond is leading.

His defensive numbers aren't that impressive. On/Off defensive net rating only +2.1 compared to +3.3 for Mobley.

Mobley defends more shots overall and more shots at the rim. Mobley is a much better rebounder, fouls less, and leads the league in defensive shot quality influence.

What is the case for Draymond such that he went from a huge dog to a odds on favorite?

He's been publicly lobbying for it and the media doesn't know who else to give it to.
