Melo or even Kobe on this team would be great. At least they can play in the post, everyone on this team can't post up for ****

Hard to complain about not getting any calls:

USA - 23 FT's
Brazil - 8 FT's

That doesn't matter, those are clear fouls on Brazil, US players are too fast for them so there are obviously going to be more fouls against them.

I don't understand why we keep saying this.
It's been the same since '92. And it probably will be for the foreseeable future.
They don't have the time (and some of them also don't have the ability) to learn a bunch of offensive sets.
We throw five guys out there and hope that their athleticism and talent is enough.

The question is - why do you keep saying this?
Non-USA teams, at least the top teams have the same thing, they have guys playing in different countries, many of them in the NBA, and they get together just as much as team USA does.

Keep saying it? Said it once ... you're not very bright are you.
Many of the other top teams play together ... and have for many years ... and play far more often than we do.
Don't be ridiculous.

Damn, we almost beat you guys. :(

Huertas, Splitter and Marcus Vieira were great for us, he did a fantastic job defending durant late in the game.

Barbs was terrible though.

The point play was horrible. Coach K maybe should have considered pulling Rose/Westbrook and going with a Billups/Gordon backcourt.

Barbosa ability to stay in front of Westbrook and Rose was a big key. They had been driving by most international players with ease.

Coach K seem afraid to make any changes in the 4th. That has to change. We were running on fumes by the end of the game.

Players playing in Europe typically play half the minutes or less compared to similar NBA players.

Durant had 8 turnovers not 8 steals

It would be nice if the USA team had a decent PG on the roster. It would help ball movement a lot.

We had Paul, Kidd and Deron in 08 and the USA still played far more 1v1 than other FIBA teams. It's always going to be this way.

We're not talking about overall minutes ... we're talking about minutes played with one another.
We're talking about the chance to learn an offense with players that you've been playing with for many years.
Before this tournament, when had the US players played with one another? Probably not very often if ever.
All star games maybe?

I honestly don't think Rondo would have fixed anything in terms of our lack of execution. If this were Chris Paul or Deron Williams we were talking about, then yeah, I'd love to have them. But it's not as if Rondo's the second-coming of Steve Nash or anything. The fact of the matter is, you're playing with a bunch of go-to guys, and the ball is naturally going to get sticky when games get tight. What does he do to alleviate that?

Paul, Kidd, and Deron weren't looking for their own shot. It was because the ball dominant players like Kobe, Wade, and Lebron had it most of the time. This team doesn't have a Kobe, Wade, and Lebron.

weak game for both teams. The amateur mistakes and bad shooting costed Brazil the game. Too much Durant ball for the USA, 8 turnovers - wtf ? :-?

espn boxscore had Durant at 8 steals for a long time, until just recently.
