There's more going on here than Magic is letting on. Something must have happened in that meeting with LeBron.

Lebron made him an offer he couldn't refuse..

Cue the Godfather theme.

Daaaamn. I know I'm probably repeating previous posts but his self confidence is pretty interesting. You can probably write a case study on this in not giving AF. He clearly loves Jeanie and was terrified to tell her to her face which is all the more interesting to me.

That's so unbelievably unprofessional. The media is going to roast him. Quite frankly, he deserves it. Wow.

Lebron's decision to join the Lakers from a basketball point of view looks worse and worse with each passing day.

What I needed was a leader... ‘coz I can’t lead myself - Magic Man

Now, LeBron will be the first ever playing GM in the NBA...

Clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about . To say she has faith in him and to see him step down means she never fully spoke with him about his own commitment did she ?

Stay in school

Clearly you’ve never worked a real job or held an executive role in a company. Stay being a peasant.

Jeanie Buss went on record saying she believes in Magic yet he quits immediately after . From the ownership perspective does it look like she had a good grasp on what Magics future plan was ? Hell no.

I don't think I have seen anything this unprofessional, in sport or 20 years working in large corporate organisations.
For a senior manager to resign without telling his boss and colleagues, it's not just a strange, it seems that something may be seriously wrong with him mentally.

Lebron is a big part of what's going on with LA.

What Magic did was so far removed from being respectful it's not even close. What would have been respectful is when he had the meeting with Jeanie he told her he wanted to resign that this wasn't for him. He wasn't up for the task. Jeanie went out to the media and said MAgic has stepped down for personal reasons or whatever. And maybe a personal note from Magic talking about how much he loves this franchise and that would be all. What we got instead was a reality tv show starring Magic Johnson.

i mean, that's what happens when you're worth more money than the owner/boss.

Come on. Let’s all be honest. Phil as GM would be just too good to pass up. Soooo much entertainment value.

lol.

Cleveland better not trade them their pick and Sexton for LeBron...that’s all I’m saying.

Pretty sure that Lebron is dead to Dan Gilbert and vice versa. They will play nice in public and Lebron may come back for a feel good, PR retirement wearing a Cleveland uniform but I highly doubt Lebron ever plays another meaningful basketball minute for Cleveland.

LeBron's also yet to play a meaningful minute of basketball for the Lakers too

"Trust and loyalty" - yeah, good one Magic. Those aren't just words you can throw around - if you were trustworthy and loyal, you'd say it to the person that you're trustworthy and loyal to. What a jackass.
I see the media going easy on him too but I hope they don't, he doesn't deserve it.

Even if he wanted to take the coward's way out, he should have just said I quit and that's it.
But no he went on to destroy his image and credibility by his damn self.

I don't know how much of this is applicable to Magic specifically, but hearing him talk about how nice is his life without this crap makes me think what a huge shock to the system it must be for all these guys when they get an actual real job LOL
Even if to all of us it's just a fun job that is probably the dream of every middle aged American.

There's the fun part where you watch a lot of basketball and know all the secrets, but surely there must also be a part you have to look at powerpoints with numbers, sit in long meetings with lawyers, pick up your phone after hours etc, you know, stuff most of us do every day. Must've totally freaked him out LOL

Man...that’s why you don’t do impromptu press conferences like that - you’ll sound like an idiot if you’re unprepared.

Magic, klutch, Lebron, Pelinka all tried to cheat the system and steal AD. The Lakers had this coming...
