He's not a Doncic or Trae Young but he could be a multiple time all-star from the looks of it.

Hype? Melo was picked 3rd. How about putting the pressure on Wiseman? Or Edwards.

Neither of them have the hype coming in like lamelo tho.

Both wiseman and edwards are playing great so far.

All lies in the consistency of his jump shot.

For me he was always a player who could clearly be a bust. He's got a smooth handle and is an incredible passer and could theoretically be a solid defender. He's tall enough to the point where he could maybe be a decent finisher. He's got good touch, but he's got zero ability to apply force at the rim.

I think his peak would maybe be Jason Williams. Never an All Star

No. He’s like Jason Williams in Shaun Livingston’s body. His likely ceiling IMO is a solid starter or key backup/sixth man on a good team.

No. Mostly because he seems to be a very polarizing player. People either LOVE him(way too much) or HATE him(way too much), with very little in between.

He won't be as bad as his haters want him to be and he won't be as good as his lovers(tehe) want him to be.

He's already looked 10x better than Trae did in his first 2 months. Being better than current Trae isn't that hard of a feat.

Hailburton? No chance

It will probably be Edwards

The hate has nothing to do with his game though. Its primarily and almost entirely because they hate his father. Otherwise he's a tantalizing prospect with great tools that keeps a low profile.

Bro, let me help you out, Google the word hype and read the results. Stop posting, and thank me later.

Seriously is there any hype for him?

Making it to stating level NBA guard would be right about where people hoped for him from what I read in one of the worst lottery level talent drafts in awhile.

That isn't true. There are very legitimate reasons as to why people wouldn't like his game.

I think LaMelo will be fine, but because his dad never let a decent coach near him, he has some serious flaws in his game at the moment. They can be corrected with good coaching, but those problems still exist currently.

I mean despite my profile I'm not actually a Hornets fan, but I think he looks pretty good. I don't know what the hype actually is. The social media criticism when he debuted made me disgusted as a basketball fan that we've gotten to this point, let the kids play.
