Everyone loses except Jarrett Allen who will get maxed by the Cavs.

"some picks"

Didn't the Lakers and Clippers just give up a similar haul of picks?

What are the chances any of those picks become even half as good as Harden?

If they win a title its worth it.

Yeah Clippers did, Lakers did too but not as many. It was just a funny phrase.

In terms of this trade it makes Nets better but I can see why some Nets fans want to vomit. Clippers and Lakers had strong assurances that the players they traded for would re-sign long term. That makes the picks less valuable.

This feels more risky for the Nets. Between player injury or unpredictability, you will be in for a scary ride the next couple of years.

We will see if Harden resigns. He gets to play with one of his best friends in the biggest market in the world.

Lakers made a similar bet that Davis would resign as well.

Lakers didn't give up as many picks but they gave up a much better play in Ingram who was only 21 or 22 at the time. Clippers also gave up SGA.

I love Levert but hes 26 and he won't be as good as either of those guys.

The Nets defense will be really really bad I don't think they can win a title just trying to outscore everybody.

While the Nets have 3 all stars, all 5 guys on the other team will look like all stars against this defense.

Harden required to jog to Brooklyn to shed the pounds, per sources.

Rockets got hosed. Picks in the late 1st round and Oladipo for an ATG?

Bro they got 3 firsts and 4 swaps. That's quite a bit.

They'll all be 25+ picks that NBA teams trade sometimes just to preserve cap space. These picks 90% of the time are nothing.

Looking at it from a Laker perspective, I would love for the Nets running long stretches with Durant at Center, because Davis would have a field day.

I actually can't think of anyone better than Durant to make life difficult for Davis and on the other hand Davis stands little chance against KD with the ball in his hands up top

Huh? I can't think of anyone better to guard KD than AD. Conversely, are you gonna have Durant at the 5 getting bruised by a big team putting pressure on the rim? Who guards Lebron James? Who's making rotations to the other guys on the floor for the Lakers? Harden definitely isn't going to be hauling ass for that.

This reminds me of a supercharged, logical conclusion to the Rockets, except with this added wrinkle of Kyrie fitting in. Yet the Lakers have proven they can absolutely feast on smallball. The Nets should hope they get the Clippers honestly.

Yeah true. Though Lakers knew AD would re-sign. I still see this as more risky for Nets.

Clippers should throw Pat Bev, Lou Will & Marcus Morris for Kyrie. See if they bite. :)

Is there a franchised strip joint between Houston and NYC? These ladies need to put in for a transfer.

If not I am sure they are looking on LinkedIn

Don’t like the fit at all. Neither Kyrie or Harden move away from the ball & ISO scoring is all the best trait of all 3.

I see Kyrie getting moved eventually.

Not going to lie this is either going to be real fun or just dominance.

Will be fun to watch.

All 3 can spot up shoot. I think what messes up big 3s/duos is when one guy can't make defenses pay by knocking down open shots

Their starting 5 is going to be ridiculous.

Still think we'll be able to beat team if we do get to the finals.

Agreed. I think the Lakers can still beat them.
For starters, none of these guys is stopping LeBron; secondly, NONE OF THESE GUYS are even remotely bothering AD.

In addition, who’s defending, and where’s the depth? They don’t even have minimal depth, let alone 8-9 deep.

The Lakers can just destroy them on the glass and get them into foul trouble.

Now, if the Nets trade Kyrie for some real good package of depth, it becomes a whole different story.

Now watch the rockets flip Oladipo in a month or 2 to a desperate title contender for another young player and a couple more 1sts.

Houston got Rodions Kurucs?! Game OVA!

Rox fans can't pronounce that so they're gonna call him Rodio as a nick. Prediction. Keep that receipt. Rodios are something they're familiar with.

If I'm Lawrence Frank, I'm calling the Nets and offering Patrick Beverly, Lou Williams & Marcus Morris for Kyrie Irving. Help them rebuild their depth. I don't think the Clippers have any picks to offer them but why not at least try?

KD/Harden/Irving

That’s loads of talent. KD an MVP and 2 time champion and 2 x FMVP. Harden was an MVP, current scoring champion and was clearly rated higher than Anthony Davis as a player according to RealGM. Irving is also an All Star and Champion in his prime. They should be favorites by these talent evaluators

Hoping for no major injuries. Really hope the Lakers take care of business and face the Nets as it will be arguably the most talented team Lebron, or anyone might face, and he will have the odds stacked against him by these metrics. Excited to see how this unfolds  :D

They have 3 superstars; prioritizing the franchise is excellent. And if the can win a couple championships it's more than worth it.

Even I appreciate Reggie for doing his entire career in Indy. Sucks that this kind of turnover will probably be the Pacers' norm for awhile. I don't blame you for not wanting to buy anything new. These players and the FO don't deserve your patronage beyond mere viewership (and that's if you wanna continue doing that much).

Bologna Smasher wrote:Something even more evident by this trade is just how cheap Fertitta truly is. Allen and LeVert are obviously better value than Oladipo and the other guys but he doesn't want to pay any of them. It's not a good sign for the future.

It's really not. Houston lowered this years salary by 10 million in the deal. Took no long term salary back. It wouldn't be surprising at all if they now try to move Gordon and Wall with this trove of picks they just got. Bottom out and save money instead of trying to win. Taking on Allen, Prince and LeVert instead of Oladipo would have made this team still good.

Rockets FO aren't that savvy. They'll stay holding out for Simmons or Tatum
