idk why ESPN refuses to utilize his talent. I assume he just refuses to do the hot-take garbage so they can't put him on anything other than Scott Van Pelt at 1am EST.

Agree with ya'll, I dislike almost all commentators but Legler is no gimmicks commentator with good insights and a normal non-annoying voice.

i think legler is top notch - doesn't have an ego - and is 100% about calling the game and not in any shtick. the thing is he's all about the game so that won't translate well to tv panels since that's all about hot takes and entertainment value. but as the color commentator, he's not on the screen and he's just adding value to the game by audio - which i think he is perfectly suited for.

The only time I have seen him sound "off" is when he talks about wanting to coach. He straight up is like, "HC or nothing. I am don't need to be an assistant first."

And I get his point but also.. just do it for a year or two and you will get your shot. You only get to be a HC with zero experience if you pull it out of your ass like Billups or have a star force it like Nash.

yeah he’s awesome. He’s what I thought Reddick would be, but Reddick is too attached to the current players personally to call a good game I think. Doris is just really bad I think on these calls as well which doesn’t help Reddick, broadcast is too boring. He can’t play the sane voice next to someone who for some reason keeps mothering players with her “this young man” takes.

I really miss JVG. Imagine Breen, JVG and Legler? I think that would be the best crew ESPN could put together.
