Re: Is the alternative to trading Irving...
The alternative to trading Kyrie is reminding him he's under contract & tell him we're going to give it one more try with this team. He can brood, or not. But that's what's happening.

If he says yes then TRADE him(kyrie and Love too) and start the rebuiliding.
Ask for Ingram, Deng, Randle and a pick.
Lakers should do that too, leaves them the space for George who is likely to join if lebron is there and yes ingram is valuable but would be a surplus anyway if they get Lebron and George.
You trade the 2nd best player of all time and you want Deng in this deal?!?!

Re: Windhorst: Kyrie Irving asked to be traded last week (Spurs, Heat, Wolves, Knicks - pg.13)
LMAO this is hilarious. At least Kyrie is self aware I guess. His perceived trade value is probably way higher then his on court impact. Before LBJ, and whenever LBJ was out, the entire NBA knows what Kyrie is, a very good scorer and that is about it. His game is conducive to being a losing franchise if HE is your best player. He's a loser without his daddy.
Cavs should have traded him ASAP but because he has been afforded the opportunity to coast on LBJ's genitalia these past years people started thinking he was worth a damn. LOL. Which ever team ends up trading for him will probably end up regretting it unless they have some REALLY good defenders and shooters on said team.

The last thing the Cavs should be worried about is their long-term plans as a contender. The jig is up, Kyrie and Lebron are about to bolt and there's no recovering from that for Cleveland. The best thing they could do is trade Love and Kyrie next summer and write a "no hard feelings" goodbye letter to Lebron.

If Pheonix could trade for Irving without giving up Jackson, that's a really good fit. But, if I'm CLE, I'd ask for Jackson.

Adam Silver doesn't negotiate trades nor does he instruct teams to make trades.

No hate, dude has balls
We should praise something like this .. he's literally going the harder route to see his true potential as a number 1
Kind of like what Kobe did.. and then Kobe went and won with a different cast while still in his prime .. that is special , not a lot of guys in sports have done that
I guess anything knicks related kyrie still wants porzingis there.. secondary packages would get trumped

PHX has no reason to trade away a rookie who looks like he will be equally impactful as Kyrie if not more (in 3-4 years of course) for 2 years of Kyrie. The only teams that should make a move for him are playoff/contenders that have a need for iso scoring and can hide him on defense. Spurs make some sense that way.

That probably moves the needle and we see the Banana Boat team.

I don't think Irving is that great of a fit for the Spurs. His 1 on 1 style of play doesn't fit the ball movememt style the Spurs run.

I remember Kobe demanding a trade when he tried to go it on his own.

The Pacers jobbed us. They pulled out at the last the minute. They then took less from OKC. It had nothing to do with Griffin & everything to do with not wanting to see PG in a Cavs jersey next to LBJ.
You don't know that though. Grif may have been able to get it over the line if it was that close. And that trade was a love one that came after the Kyrie ones.
I've wanted to trade Kyrie forever. What's out there now though
I'm pretty sure the Bledsoe/PG trade had Kyrie going out. I would agree with the Griffin super-powers theory if the Pacers didn't take a pure garbage offer from OKC. It wasn't just the Cavs, they passed on whatever the Celtics would've offered after they Hayward.
Yeah the Bledsoe pg one was a Kyrie one but the one they backed out of last minute was love to Denver trade.

a half hearted trade demand. more like lighting a fire under the front offices' ass to get them to do something..which they did - PAU.

This came out of nowhere. What an interesting offseason. So why does not want to play with Lebron? What was the reason?

Kyrie has that kobe DNA thats why he was the one to close game 7 out for the cavs. He is always talking to kobe too.
