Good trade for both teams for where they’re at now, but I think looking back in 5 years we’ll be thinking what a steal for Chicago

I’m not out on him but he’s an awkward player. I think he’s still growing into his body. I think he can be a problem in 2-3 years he needs some time to develop.

this is spot on - okc are ready to win a title now, giddey still a ways off. he's 5 months younger than chet holmgren.

wouldnt have minded okc keep him and run the bnch unit. but caruso jumps them right into contention. They better hope minnesota meets denver in next years playoffs though

Obviously Giddey has to do a lot to improve his game to make that case, specifically shooting/scoring.

They might regret it and as a Bulls fan I hope they do.

But I wouldn't compare him to Harden other than it being a young player that they traded. Harden was the 6th man of the year and showed more potential than Giddey when he was traded.

This thread will be very fun to look back to once the NBA season starts and Giddey plays for a big market team like the Bulls.

His inefficiency and poor defence will make the rounds a lot over here compared to his stint with the Thunder.

Just a heads up Bulls fans: When you see Giddey attempt a floater, never assume it will go in. You will avoid the headaches if that's your stance moving forward.

Good thing is that Bulls fans are used to for basketball to not go in basket. Noonshooter traded to nonshooter team.

Fans are generally hopeful by nature. Despite that, the majority of Bulls fans aren't happy with this trade.

As a side note, a lot of fans don't get Caruso because they can't hear the floor. When Caruso is on the floor or even the bench, he is calling out what to do on defense. Its pretty absurd. He makes players around him better on defense and if you are a casual fan you would never know it because he is on the other side of the court . . . or on the bench. That said, his verbal leadership is really apparent if you listen in or watch. OKC is about to get a lot better on defense.

Bulls got screwed here. Hopefully Giddey suddenly learns to shoot and play defense. He is young after all. That said, this doesn't look good for the Bulls.

Can't wait for the 180 next season when Giddey gets to play to his strengths and people pretend they were all for it.

Good trade for Chicago.

Giddey is beyond dreadful. Watching him singlehandedly ruin the Thunder on both ends last season was awful.

Complete non threat as a scorer which greatly reduces him as a passer - when the defense ignores you, there won't be many easy reads for you which raises the playmaking difficulty and thus lowers its ceiling. Sure, playing offball is playing him out of position but he isnt good enough to warrant playing on ball - if Giddey is running your offense, you are probably a bottom three offense in the league.

People keep repeating that he is 6'8 but he is a dreadful athlete with negative wingspan and plays with about as much force as Caitlin Clark - you won't see another 6'8 player bitch out of finishing at the rim as often as Giddey with pathetic little floaters and runners.

Awful defender as well and overrated rebounder - can grab the unconstested boards but you better hope somebody is boxing out for him.

I favour OKC but I don’t think that it was a bad deal for the Bulls.

Thunder still need a stronger C though before they really can get to the next level.

I'm sorry, I don't see the Bulls blowing it up. I think they are going to trade their old guys to get younger (ok that's sort of blowing it up). Coby is a future all star, and Ayo can do what Caruso did off the bench. I want them to keep Derozan because I think he is one of the best closers in the game, but I wouldn't be surprise if they move him to get younger or some drafts. With Giddey as their PG, they are going all in with a run n gun type of offense and putting all their eggs in Coby to evolve to the next level. I can see him averaging 25+ and making the all star team next season.

This trade is not about Giddey; it's really about their golden boy Coby.

I'm sorry, I disagree wth everything you said only because I don't think you've seen a lot of Giddey and understand what the needs of Chicago are. Think Lonzo Ball. Now take into consideration they are one of the worse teams to score off assists. Now think about Coby White. Do you want that kind of talent to score as much as he can? If you're like me, the answer is yes. He should not be a facilitator because the facilitation should revolve around him.

When you really think about it, OKC traded a starter that helped them be the 1st seed in the NBA for a second unit role player on a team that couldn't win the play in. They're not trading him because he sucks; they're trading him because he's not a good fit for them. Caruso is beloved in Chicago, so that's why I think their fans hate this trade, which is understandable, but you have to understand, it's also all emotional.

Giddey shot 19% from three with defenders within 6 feet of him. The shot stll has a long ways to go.

Crazy talk.

He's 21 and as a 20 year old, he put up 16.6, 7.9, and 6.2 on 48% from the floor.

The hate toward this young man is irrational.

As a Thunder fan, I think Thunder fans are so annoying (this is not a personal attack and just your opinions are annoying). Realgm non Thunder fans > Thunder fans. What does that say about you when non fans know more about your team than you do? You guys are such Giddey haters it's becoming unbearable.

As a Chicago native and bulls fan I can actually see it playing out like the trade Zach lavine for some depth resign demarr derozon and Andre Drummond pat williams the need to try and trade vuc & Javon Carter then it will be a interesting team

Ya the Bulls are my second favorite team, so I really like the direction of getting younger and outgunning the other teams with Giddey at the point and Coby as the 1st option. I don't know what the rest of the lineup will look like, but if they can get a young shooter and draft a big man, this team can surprise a lot of people. There won't be a lot of expectations for them to win now, which will take some pressure off their core; they can also clear some much needed cap room once they off load Lavine and Vucevic and have enough firepower to sign a huge FA if this young core pans out.

Let the old boys go, so the youngins can have their time in the limelight. They've had their chance and failed miserably.

OKC will be at least a 62 win team next year purely by the virtue of not playing Giddey.

Makes sense for both. There's not enough ball for Giddey in OKC so get a premier 3&D player for their future playoff runs. Bulls go younger and hope to cash in on the greater upside of Josh Giddey.

He was a +375 in 2023-2024. What you are referring to is the Mavs series, which I admit he played his worse, but that shouldn't take away from him starting all season and them being the 1st seed. If he didn't contribute at all, they would of benched him a long time ago like how they did in the Mavs series.

Your position is flawed because I don't believe you watched any RS games, which is understandable because they barely played any national games, and it's idiotic of me to expect outsiders to go out of their way and pay to watch OKC games especially when they aren't even fans.
