Finally getting to watch game 6 and man is this double big lineup everything I had hoped it would be when they're not out there with with Payne, Shamet, and McBride

If they can stay out of foul trouble they should be able to control the glass and pace.

Man if I am the Pacers I am begging you to employ that double big line up. Watching Kat and Mitch up and down the court at the same time with our pace plays right into our hands. Just a quick reminder that one of the reasons we don't have very many off rebounds is due to the fact that we have been shooting a very high percentage from the field. Maybe that changes this series, maybe it doesn't.

Will be interesting to see if we dominate the glass enough to force you into gang rebounding, preventing you from starting to run until we've got bodies back...like we did to Detroit...or if you'll be able to burn us in transition playing 4-on-3.

Although with how deep Karl is typically positioned when we're not feeding him in the post; even if Mitch gets caught under the rim and you get away with boxing Mitch out with just 1 guy, Towns should be in good position to keep it 4-on-4.

PS it's easier to hit shots when you don't have Anunoby / Bridges / McBride / Hart all over you and Robinson prowling behind them

I have no feel for this series. But I have to give the Pacers credit for dominating the Cavs. They are a tricky team to play because they’re 5 out and they play fast and let it go. So when they’re hot, they are hard to stop. They exploited mismatches against the Cavs and used physicality to stop them. They were clearly better than the Cavs.

The Pacers like to pressure full court so that could wear on Brunson in this series if he’s the sole ball handler. Knicks know this of course but it’s something to watch because it’s constant.

Both teams are playing well. Pacers are in a groove offensively and they’re deeper. But the Knicks can score with them and they can offensive rebound which is one weakness of the Pacers.

The last regular season game we played Ondy KAT dropped 40 and Hart dropped 30 OG didn't play and Brunson only scored 8 points...we beat them decisively. Many say regular season doesn't matter. and that's probably true to some extent. But has the Pacers defense improved so much since February? I doubt it versus a healthy team.

It's not just about them improving or not, it's also about how Carlisle schemes to stop us specifically and how playoff refs impact the way their defense wears us down...especially as the series wears on. If we drop one of the first two games at home and this becomes guaranteed to be a long series, we could end up just gassing out.

They have depth, but some of that depth is terrible defenders like Obi and McConnell, and Obi has that nasty habit of leaking out which isn't really costly against other teams, but there are going to be times he's on the floor with Hart, KAT and Mitch all in the lineup, and that would be an unfortunate decision on his part to leak out

What makes their D so strong isn’t that they rely on individuals like Mitch / OG / Mikal to shut guys down or make insane plays. It’s the constant ball pressure, the crisp rotations, and energy.

Just like on offense, their d is more than the sum of it’s parts because their depth lets them go balls to the wall for 48 minutes and Carlisle is such a good coach. So their good defenders impact is amplified and their poor defenders impact is minimized.

Sure Obi & Bryant are weak defensively, but McConnell is chippy & going to harass Jalen / Deuce full court, Mathurin is inconsistent but has the tools to defend well when he’s focused, while Walker & Sheppard are just straight up good defensively and I’d be happy to have them on our bench.

We’re gunna need to dominate the boards just to control the pace, even if we are super careful about not turning the ball over.

Nah. We wouldn’t even be here if the refs hadn’t cheated for us in the Detroit series and called game 3 consistently from start to finish. If they had changed the way they were calling the game on that last shot, the pistons would’ve bounced us.
