According to Hollinger, the Raps have a 16.8% chance of making it to the finals while the Nets have a 3.2% chance.

Hollinger goes by stats, and the stats say that the Raptors are a better team. Nets are only going by reputation in this series.

We already know this thread is going to be full of raps fans complaining about officiating during the game. Heck, they are already crying about it before it has even started

Mentioning in beforehand is serving notice that if they cry about it after, their predictions were right.

Any team can cry about it after the fact, without knowing it was going to happen.

Terrible bracket for the Raps and Nets to be in. Making it to the Eastern Conference Finals would have been a huge monumental victory for both teams, and something they could build on. But now they gotta face Miami in the 2nd round.

I think either of these teams could have taken the Pacers in a series... but we probably won't get to find out.

If you lead the league by a vast margin in league apologies due to reffing, lead the league in blown calls, lead the league in fouls, constant games where your team only gets 9 FTs where the other teams gets 25+ FTs, get screwed by referees starting the clock so early, get screwed by Arenas clocks not working when you have the ball at a crucial time, get screwed when points are taken away or not being counted. And all of this has been acknowledged by the NBA, and tells you "too bad too sad"... for years.... then you probably would have animosity towards the referees as well. Its not like some fans arent complaining for no reason, the NBA basically tells us, yea we screwed you for years, too bad. And you expect it to just roll off our Canadian backs? Our complaints have historical merit.

The Nets are below average in almost every statistical category, yet they keep winning. It shows how much the referees had to help them win games.

Watch a few Raptors games and then you'll see exactly where those fans are coming from. They're predicting biased officiating in this series because it's happened for years throughout the season. Just a couple of game ago against Detroit, the refs gave Lowry two phantom fouls in 30 seconds (the second one because Drummond basically tripped over his own feet) and forced him out of the game. And this was against a non-contending team. So excuse Raptors fans for being worried that a Brooklyn team with a lot of high priced veterans will get the calls.

Nets intentionally put themselves here. They're 4-0 vs the heat and 0-4 against the Pacers.
I know regular season doesn't mean everything, but they just don't match up well with the Pacers

Raps in 6, potentially 7

Nets in 6. TOR won't lay down but the Nets have too much experience. The slower tempo plays into the Nets favor.

Holy Jeebus.

Look, I got no dog in this Raptors/Nets fight, but that offensive foul call may be the absolute worst NBA call I've seen in my entire life. I can't think of anything that comes close.

How about this one? Best part is that it was a late whistle

Ironically the Raptors despite their youth and athleticism, play at a slower pace than the Nets and are better at it. Nets are better at fast break opportunities. If Pierce can run up and down the court after a turnover, it could cause problems.

Check this one out. Just happened a couple of days ago. Lowry was called for a foul on this play and was ejected with 5 min left in the game.

Greivis -- who played his college ball around here -- was the victim of a star power call (if it was Al Harrington doing the exact same thing instead of Durant, Vasquez would have gotten that call). TBH I've seen that lots of times in the past.

The original video though, where you're merely taking a jump shot in a normal motion and then get called for an offensive foul? That's just horrible.

You have more to lose. Everyone from outside doubts your team really belongs there. Most of the 'experts' are going to pick the Nets to upset you guys. You have the pressure of being the favorites and trying to protect home court by winning your first two games.

Let me be clear: I am rooting for the Raptors and I hope they win. But I don't believe they will. Nets in 6.
The Raps have more to lose than the Nets?

The BROOKLYN Nets?

The billionaire owner Mikhail Prokohov's Nets?

The same owner who didn't give a **** about salary caps and basically bought his entire team's Nets?

The same owner who said "we're in win now mode"'s Nets?

The same Nets team that EVERYONE had winning it all's Nets?

The team that has a starting lineup of HOF/Allstars' Nets?

The team that has Deron Williams, Paul Pierce, Joe Johnson, Kevin Garnett, Brook Lopez (out), Andrei Kirlenko, Shaun Livingston, and lord knows who else's Nets?

The Raptor's team with NO playoff experience has more to prove than that Brooklyn Nets team. Sounds goddamn legit bro..

Those projections are half a year old. Everyone saw the awful start Brooklyn got off to and readjusted their expectations. They have a bunch of all-stars and hall of famers, but most aren't in their primes (and arguably their best player, Brook Lopez missed the whole season). I don't think anyone still views the Nets the way they did before the season started. Now it's a team that couldn't get home court advantage in an awful eastern conference. I doubt you'll see those people who anointed them picking them to get to the ECF now.

If the Nets lose the public says: 'I guess they're just too old"

If the Raptors lose the public says: "I guess they were frauds"

Hard to tell via a .gif, but I'm going to assume that the ref behind Lowry (under the basket) made the call while Lowry's body screened him. Yeah that sucks and is an incorrect call. But making calls while screened based on assumption (by the refs) happens a lot.

The original jump shooting foul video though -- no ref was screened, everyone had a good view of the play. That call looked like money changed hands somewhere.

what a dumb post. what about torontos projections at the beginning of the year? They were projected like 30 wins. If raptors lose, its because they are young. Where the hell does "Frauds" come from. Brooklyn will be the frauds if they lose. The whole season everyones been saying "Brooklyns built for the playoffs." Nobody has been hyping torontos chances as much as brooklyns. do you even watch basketball?
