Bones Hyland was moved into the starting rotation at the start of the second half (and exploded):

Canned in Denver.

Lakers are going to put it together during the season. They have an easy schedule starting out too.

Lakers have some guys who can shoot, and they have some guys who can defend, but they don't really have guys that can do both. I mean, Kendrick Nunn maybe?

Lakers aren’t a very scary team TBH. I see a lot of talent, but some bad fit pieces and chemistry issues coming. Will still be a contender but the idea that they will run the table and face the Nets is bogus to me. I think the Suns, Nuggets or Jazz win the west

Bazemore looks finished , hard to really comment on the team until the starting 5 plays together in the opener

Until all 3 are on the floor, it's hard to judge their fit.

ClipsFan only has a little time left to criticize the "bad fit pieces" of the Lakers before the team actually plays a game as a full unit.

Let him have these moments. There aren't many left now.

Disagree completely on that. I think the Suns still present some matchup issues,, but teams like the Nuggets/Jazz just dont have enough. MPJ isnt good enough to be the 2nd option on a team beating the Lakers and the Lakers were even slapping the Suns last year until AD got hurt. It's still usually hard to lose when you have 2/3 best players in a series (and against the non-Nugget squads, the 2 best players).

It makes no sense to judge the Lakers who are basically totally new but 2 players (1 who didn't play), who totally changed their offense to this year and are still practicing basic things in the pre-season game. Judge them after 10 games and even then it's way too early since adjusting period takes always dozens of games. Only thing that should worry people is lebron's refusal to pass the ball to Westbrook. Regardless I think that game doesn't reflect much of their style of game. Westbrook wasn't dominating the ball at all basically and many roleplayers were featured hard. So I think they are still figuring out roleplayer roles and giving them big roles instead of stars dominating isos.

Lakers need to search the retirement home again for some players to help them contend. Russ and Melo ain't it. They'll get hot occasionally, but they'll hurt you more than they'll add.

Lakers should consider restructuring their bench. The bench guys come on and everyone is getting taken off the dribble and the perimeter defense transforms to league worst type bad. During midseason I'd pick the 2 best performing complementary players from the poor defensive guys (Ellington, Melo, Monk) and ship out the rest. There are too many guys with the same weaknesses in there.

OG really came back with some real iso offense gotdamn. His offensive progression from year 1 has been nothing short of absolutely ridiculous

I was a huge fan of Jalen Suggs and still think Orlando got a steal.

But I noticed his minutes haven't been there for the first 2 pre-season and not that much production (guessing clearly cause he's coming off the bench?)

Any insight?

Barnes is so raw, so it'll take time but Draymond is pretty accurate so far (maybe with more athletic ability)

Orlando has been really careful handling rookies for the past decade, and coach Mosley has been trying some different lineups. I also think Suggs was dealing with some jitters in the first game. We just have to wait for a bigger sample size

I keep saying it Sharife Cooper is a star. He may be the best player in his draft.
