Anyone know whether there is one league wide standard for type of tests, frequency of tests and test results that are necessary to get a player out of covid protocols? I've haven't read about there being one, but I haven't been following NBA covid policies closely. I am not suggesting that the Lakers did anything wrong, but my wild guess is that The King demanded, and the Lakers complied, to do everything humanly possible to get Lebron back in to action as quickly as possible, which might entail using the least sensitive tests they can find and repeatedly testing until they got some results they could plausibly hang their hats on.

A complex question, methodology and strict adherence to established guidelines should be agreed upon at least on a state level.

90 Percent plus of players are fully vaxxed .. no one is dying, or even close to it .. this is bogus .. fully vaxxed players should not undergo any testing and should play .. period ... the sooner the NBA makes this statement, the sooner we get back to normal games .. ONLY NON vaxxed players should be tested daily ..

Kinda weird how they decide which games to postpone. Cavs have 8 guys in protocols and are still playing tonight.

100% of the NHL is vaccinated yet their season is shut down.

Let that sink in.

Adam Silver has finally acknowledged that this is a possibility. It's that or shut down all sports leagues/society again at this point. And I don't think the latter is an option.

The Lakers/Nets Christmas Day game looks like it could be in jeopardy of being postponed. The Dallas/Utah Christmas game, if it happens, will have several replacement players and no Luka.

Yep, at this rate Christmas games will be Gleague vs Gleague and a few NBA players mixed in between. :nonono:

I know the options are pretty limited but what's even the point of watching these games? I'm not watching the Pistons without Cade or Mavs without Luka or Raptors without half their team?

when did he say that?

He was on ESPN yesterday acknowledging that non testing of vaccinated/non-symptomatic players is now the NFL's policy (as of a few days ago), and that "this virus is not going to be eliminated, so it is time to learn to live with it". I would imagine it's just a matter of days before he also makes it the official policy of the NBA.
