He needs to be surrounded by shooters to really shine, right?

Boston would be a perfect match if only he could crack the rotation.

OKC ? But he doesn’t project to have a role still.

I don’t think he’s good when you’re not giving him lot of benefit of doubt. Driver/attacker who’s not very good at scoring, point who’s not very good at distributing…and of course remains a totally unconvincing shooter. People kept being like ‘woah he can do some stuff!’ for years when he would string together a couple cool plays but he never put together a good stretch of a couple months. Just stayed an extremely limited player who wasn’t consistently that great at his strengths.

He’s got some ways to level up that are possible, but this off-season feels like teams would still be taking a flyer on him rather than getting a for sure solid rotation guy.

Magic fans were looking forward to his return from injury last season, now he is teamless. Weird.

I think most Magic fans were excited for him for years and saw him as this bonus that could pop at any time. But once his contract came up everyone was like ‘yeah we’re obviously not going to invest big $ in him when we got real business to do.’ He’s still very hypothetical and very old to be that. Really don’t think any team on the league would count on him for a specific role when signing him, but he’ll be that exciting upside play for some new fan base soon.

Fultz is 26. There is no upside anymore. No one wants a point guard who can't shoot. He's Europe bound.

Nuggets gonna sign Russell Westbrook or nah?

It's sad that the Denver off-season has been so bad that I actually need this to happen. What a clown show.

So David Roddy just got traded to the Hawks for EJ Liddell's contract. There is a good chance the guy just gets waived after training camp. I would be shocked if he gets his 4th year option picked up. For all his strengths as a unique physical player, the guy just can't make open shots. Not an NBA player.

Do you mean Roddy or Liddell? I remember during the draft some people thought Liddell had potential.

Liddell had the ACL injury before his rookie year which totally derailed his career. He might still have a shot, but this was just a move to save a little lux tax for Phoenix (EJ makes 700K less than Roddy this year and a team option next year). Roddy is basically hanging on by a flimsiest of threads. His summer league was pretty mediocre (to be kind) and he clearly isn't improving at anything other than being a wide body.

All in, I wouldn't be shocked if both guys don't make it out of training camp, even if they do have guaranteed contracts.

Why did Atlanta do the deal? Sounds like neither player will make it and Phoenix saves money

If I had a guess, Phoenix sent a million to the Hawks. Suns save 5 million in lux tax, Hawks pocket a few hundred thousand for someone who probably isn't going to make the roster.

Rumors swirling that Phoenix is locked in on Tyus Jones. If we can grab Monte Morris and Tyus on vet minimums that would be huge!

If Denver has any roster spots open they should be looking at Osman, Kennard, or Shamet

Kennard is still on the board? Denver should seriously inquire about his status.
