He is noticeably and measurably worse. Is it 6x or 2x or 10x? Who cares. You decide I'm not gonna argue with you over how many times worse one player is over the other. If you want to do that, go for it.

C'mon, bud, I gave you attitude because you made the odd decision to argue exactly that, and because your literal argument for it was 'yes McCain is aboslutely 6 times worse than Carrington on defense, and the reason is that his wingpsan and height are smaller.' It's right there.

If you meant to say something subtler than that, or based on some observations or whatever, I'm all ears. I am actually interested in McCain vs other rookies on defense, and I do think he's been pretty bad. But can't do much work with 'everyone knows every small guard ever is horrendous in defense while every medium-big one is great.'

I mean, you don’t have to agree with it but that general statement is true. Small guards with below average wingspans are almost always poor defenders

If you want to see something specifically just watch McCains hips. His lateral and rotational hip movement is just very slow. He’s a stockier guy for someone who’s only 6’2 and he just moves awkwardly. Short player with a small wingspan and slow hips is a recipe for defensive disaster no matter how you want to look at it

Castle's defense against Curry has been sensational.

So Clingan and Sarr are already top 5 (in the league) in blocks per game as rookies. Interesting.

Clingan with an interesting stat line tonight:

0 points, 19 rebounds (9 offensive), 3 blocks in 25 minutes

Even though he didn't score, his impact on the glass and on defense was a big factor in Portland's win over Houston.

Clingan 3rd in the league in total blocks in spite of only playing 16.5 MPG.

McCain is just getting alot of run on really bad team.

In my opinion is stat padding.

I agree generally that he’s stat padding on a bad team but that’s what will win a ROY

Jesus who the hell cares, it's impressive considering he's a rookie. This isn't the MVP discussion

You gotta quote if you want me to see a stray comment.

But yeah I noticed haha. Whenever "other" has so many votes I can tell my poll sucks lol.

I made a post about it last week but I wanted to wait until the end of the month just so I'm not changing it a million times by the end of the year. We're almost to the quarter point of the season and that feels like the time to re-do it.

I've been thinking about who to put in it without getting chewed out by folks haha. McCain, Knecht and Wells need their own option, but then other guys have to come out. And I'm wondering if I should keep the poll question the same or change it to something more specific like "who is leading the ROY race?" And do you guys like being able to vote for 2, or change it just 1? And why am I even speeding so much time thinking about this lol.
