I thought the general premise of the movie was that he is old af for a driver and is trying to hold on while some young driver is coming up in the sport.

idk..

The main issue is we don't have any new movie stars. They had a report about he highest paid actors and like 75% were over 40 and of the biggest names the youngest was the Rock and he is 53.

Glen Powell is trying. Between Twisters, Top Gun and The Running Man the dude is in a bunch of reboots but it is his path to being an A-lister. Even then the guy is 36. Tom Cruise was 24 when he was in Top Gun and that was like his 3rd HUGE movie. It is kinda crazy how we don't have any marketable movie stars anymore.

they trying to make chalamet one. maybe michael b. jordan?

Chalemet and Michael B Jordan are more actor than "movie star" like they make real films and not just box office schlock. They are more DiCaprio than Will Smith.

Both Chalamet and MBJ have huge box office draw for their demographics but it isn't like they guarantee a movie is bringing in X dollars. That kinda went away after the 2000s when we needed new stars to replace guys like Will Smith and Tom Cruise who were huge stars in the 90s and pushed massive blockbusters in the 2000s. Cruise doubled down and basically refused to let go of Mission Impossible and Will Smith gave up on action and went all in on Oscar bait. Now we are a full generation later and no one took those titles and the action stars are all old af.

If Minnesota gets hot for the rest of the series this can go 6 or 7. Look what happens when OKC isn’t getting easy fast break points from creating turnovers or from pushing after getting a board. Their half court offense sucks the big one.

I was watching one of those Geezer Action movies. I think it was a Cruise. They were clearly trying to portray him as vaguely 38 if that makes sense. But there was a scene where he got in a car and you could just tell he was old. He got into a car like an old man. Despite all the camera tricks, exercise, hair treatments, PED, a simple action like getting in car exposed his age.

As an aside I wish Leo did less prestige movies. He never really did pure comedies. WOWS had comedic moment but it wasn't a comedy. Nor did he do pure romantic leads. It is a shame because he's great at it.

The other issue is... this isn't the 90's or 2000's anymore. If your big budget blockbuster is bad, the world knows in seconds. Word of mouth kills these films. Even this new Mission Impossible movie was a set piece movie first, story second. It may be technically a well-made movie, but it's also stupid as all hell. Ethan Hunt vs. Sky-Net.

I thought we were going to lose tonight because we looked very tired after game 2. Can't complain but we got no rest since the Denver series and played two high intensity games to start the series despite the fact that we won by double digits.
My main concern for the Thunder is that we are struggling a lot on the road in those POs...we were terrible in both games at Memphis and game 6 at Denver was ugly too. We had probably only one good game at Denver tbh. Home court advantage is huge and we can't afford to lose a game at home against this Wolves team.
