Sorry for not looking at this forum every day. Anyway, I don't see the point in repeating all the stuff again.

Such a stupid argument. If thats the argument than give the MVP to Chris Paul.

I am not sure if the Cavs can win 60+ this season. They really are a great team but with Shaq, the margin of error is much smaller for them. If Cavs land between 55-60 and Lakers get their usual 63 games, it will be MVP race 2008 once again.

This coming from someone who thinks Lebron can win MVP every year.

As weak as the Eastern Conference is, and being that there are only two teams in that conference other than the Cavs worth anything...maybe 3...the Cavs have to be right there with the Lakers for Lebron to be considered.

Quiet? Why exactly? James has still some nice arguments to be ahead of Bryant in the MVP race. Well, Bryant has right now the slightly better argument mainly due to the better record. We will see whether the Lakers are able to keep their game up once they are having some more road games.

Not only have you not listed any.. But I was right. There hasnt been a LeBron fanboy in this thread in a couple days. Could get even more quiet after tonight. (Cavs v. Portland)

Ball boy wrong once again, what a shock. Its a joke that you think Lebron has no argument over Kobe right now. Lebron is a flat out better player than Kobe. Period. People will see this even more as the season goes on

If they win those games, they would be at 20-1 so far in this season, doubt that anyone would even consider to not give the MVP award to James. Right now there are at least some arguments for Bryant ahead of James.

You want to use the excuse that he doesnt have as much help as Kobe.. So I want to know why he couldnt beat 5 crappy teams. LeBron and the Cavs have now lost 5 games to really bad teams. There is no excuse for that this early in the season. If they lose 1-2, fine, it happens. But 5 this early? Sorry, but the whole "Kobe has more help" argument goes out the window when you lose to the Grizzlies, Raptors, Bulls, Wizards and Bobcats.

mysticbb wrote:Uh, they went to a 37 yr old Shaq instead of a 34 yr old Big Z, from Delonte West/Sasha Pavlovic to a 34 yr Anthony Parker (neither West nor Pavlovic should be a starter in this league) and from Varajeo/Wallace to a sophomore in JJ Hickson. I don't even know where to start to point out that the last seasons Cavs are heavily overachieved in the regular season with 66 wins.

Ok, so if LeBron walked away with the MVP last year after his team overacheieved, why should he get a free pass this year while his team is underacheieving. (Which is absolutely what they are doing right now)

You have to factor in the fact that Lebron dominated the MVP race last year. Its going to take a lot for Kobe to make this even close at seasons end.

I'm waiting for the Lakers to have a real road trip to debate this further. It's impossible to project anyting with only 4 road games played.

Huge game from Nash tonight. Should bump him up a spot or 2. He's doing wonders with a very mediocre squad.

That team is far from mediocre.

No...we don't. That doesn't have to be factored in at all. I know you'll factor it, but anyone not from Cleveland likely don't care. And if Kobe just keeps doing what he's already doing, he'll win it hands down.

Almost nobody had them even making the playoffs this year. It's pretty mediocre.

Dirk had another very good game. I think he never played better basketball. The top 5 right now is Dirk, Lebron, Anthony, Kobe, and Nash, not neccesserely in that order, but still. They're playing out of their minds.

Maybe if the Cavs win 66 again. Otherwise, I don't agree.

Nash's game last night was crazy good. It wasn't even the box score that impressed me. He made some of the sickest passes I've seen in quite a while. Taking that average supporting cast to 15-7 is incredibly impressive. If the season ended today, Nash is easily in the top 3.

lets be real

Kobe and LeBron are the only real candidates

Dirk, Nash, or Melo won't win the west so there goes their candidacy

LeBron puts up ridiculous stats so its all about keeping the gap between the Cavs and Lakers record not that huge.

If the Lakers win 65+ games and the best record in the L then Kobe got it locked up. Everyone else is just playing for 2nd place on the MVP ballot.
