There are just not enough really bad teams. See my post right before this. They will probably be bottom 5 so at worst a 10.5% chance, not far off from 14% chance for worst team.

Is anyone else skeptical this string bean is gonna have a similar impact with the NBA big boys?

Well he obviously won't immediately have as good of numbers against real NBA competition as he does against the G league...maybe in time, but only like 2 players in the NBA avg 20/10 (Jokic barely I think)....much less 30/10 (none).

How is his 3pt shooting lately?

He still takes way too many stupid jumpers, 31.5% this season on 4.9 three point attempts

Jokic averaged almost 30 and 14 last season, this year he is intentionally boxing out and letting other players rebound, just for giggles

with that said, ofc he won't avg 30/10 as a rookie, why would he?

rebounds in general are more spread around now, since a huge propotion of shots are 3's that bounce much farther on avg and because the game plan is to lure big men out to the perimeter, esepcially the kind that's a good rim protector and rebounder and usually less good out to the 3 pt line defensively

I doubt Wemby will be featured in the offense enough to score 20 as a rookie but certainly possible as well (depends on where he gets drafted too)

he should be averaging 20/10 in no time tho, as his length should allow him to get rebounds that go long and to recover fast enough from the perimeter to a rebounding position. He is THAT long..

take a guy like Gobert who teams actively try to draw outside, since he is briliant as a rebounder and rim protector and a legit 7'1 and much less of a threat outside - he's down somewhat this year to around 12 RPG but was consistently at around 13-14 a game in Utah. if Gobert can do it, Wemby can surely do it too and going from Gobert's 15 PPG to 20 well...that shouldn't be too hard haha

It's probably good to take a lot of attempts in the G league to try and get his % up but if he is shooting that when he gets into the NBA he should cut those out until he improves.

I do wonder how his blocks will hold up with quicker, better players. I imagine he's not quick enough to switch but stays near the rim on defense? I imagine he can cover a lot of ground quickly to move a bit to contest from there though like Gobert. Then his rebounding against bigger bangers might go down a bit, but his length should still give him quite a bit.

His FG% seems it wil be really high if he cuts out 3s though. If he can shoot from all over it will be impossible to guard obviously.

Has he ever had any injury concerns? How tall is he exactly? I've seen from 7'2 up to like 7'5. It seems like most players 7'3 or taller end up having a lot of injuries.

AD is near 30 and 10+..but he is having monster games. You have to have a ton of monster games to avg 30 because you will have quite a few games in the 20s...sometimes with fewer minutes due to lopsided games or just off shooting nights.

Yeah, rebounding seems really spread out. Not nearly as many 10+ rebounders in the past with all the 3s. I think he can easily probably avg 20/10, and yes, he best bigs do sometimes, though many of the high scoring ones are under 10 this season, though of course both Towns and Gobert are down because of each other...esp Towns. Embiid and Jokic down...Ayton down.

Also with more big switching out it hurts too..only usually the strictly rim protection Cs get the most (Gobert, Capela, Adams, Vucevic, Zubac, Sabonis, Allen, Nurkic).

He is not playing in G league, he plays in France. He is very tall, newest report said 7'4 without shoes, and thats about right, his length is insane, Last season watching him against player I know, I would have guessed he is ''NBA'' 7'5, very very tall . He definitely not a switchy defender, but his rim protection is legendary, i have no doubt it will translate from day one. Yes, he did already had injuries, he missed Eurobasket because he had complication healing his thigh, and last season when he debuted in Euroleague, he battled reocuring injuries often, but nothing systemic yet, like having obviously bad knees or feet, like it often happens with guys his size. I mean he is a bit fragile, and even if he wasnt' being around 7'5 guy, injury concern is automatically high.

His biggest problem is shot selection and inability to switch well. But on the other hand, he takes tough shots and sometimes makes it, so its both bad shot selection, but he shows potential of him being tough shot maker and just a guy you can give the ball and let him shoot oever people without it being terrible possession. He can't stay in front of any guard, but he is so long that he is intimidating after switch, and he often able to contest and block shots even when his feet gets a little behind. His shot making will translate, obviously his switchable defense will probably be a concern against NBA guards who can blow pass you and just slam it down, in those instances, even 8 foot wingspan wont save him most of the time.

There are only three teams that deserve Wembanyama: Hornets, Wizards, Kings.

Every other team has had their shot lately, whether deep playoff runs/titles (Spurs, Jazz, Bulls) or constant top 3 picks over the last 5 years (Rockets, Magic, Thunder)

His biggest weakness will be inability to defend in space. He gets smoked off the dribble by anyone who is able to do a couple of crossovers, sometimes he recovers and blocks shots from behind, but that wont be so easy in the NBA. Guards are most explosive and court is bigger.

I am not in love with him like most of the people. He is like Gobert that can shoot a little bit. Is he an All-Star if he stays heathly? Yes. Is he a No. 1 option on title contender? I dont think so.

Well considering Gobert is a $40m a year 3 times All Star and 3 times DPOY, then Gobert who can shoot a little must be quite the thing. Plus he's taller.

For those who dont have NBA LP and speak french (you can still watch even if you dont speak french, you just wont understand the casters) you can watch a few of the Mets games on First Team twitch channel (https://www.twitch.tv/firstteam101), but not all games are shown there , the game against Fos last week was and the next one is the match against Cholet on the 23rd.
