It's hilarious and ironic because I remember defending Lebron over these terrible posts in the late 00's and early 10's.

Jokic can never surpass Jordan, even if he were to win six rings. He doesn’t have the defensive aura that Jordan had. LeBron has had a greater aura as well and will have had the longest effective career of probably any player ever. Kareem is not the passer Jokic is but was a far better defensive player and one of the greatest scoring machines ever. Has the record for most win shares in a season too. I think Jokic has a shot at the bottom of the top ten but not much higher than that.

I don't think that's true. Jokic at least in terms of influence (decision making, game calling, how the defense plays) is more impactful. Now you can argue Lebron at his Apex was better defensively. But those are different things.

This is what kills me about today’s debates. We have to constantly shuffle the all time rankings and compare hundreds of individual seasons and series every single year. It’s just exhausting.

I can name only one man who never really had a playoff blemish and that’s Bill Russell. Even he lost though, and had some rough offensive seasons even in wins. But he played during the Eisenhower, Kennedy, and LBJ presidencies.

Anyone else, I can point to several examples of them coming up short when it mattered most.

Duncan is my favorite player of all time, but I wanted the Nuggets to win. I enjoyed seeing the media salty whenever the Nuggets won it reminded me how they used to also get upset whenever the Spurs won during their title runs outside of 2014. Now a bunch of clowns like Stephen A will be happy tomorrow and that sucks.

No problem with his offense in game 7. The Wolves are an all-time defensive team and got the personnel specifically to combat him. He played great all things considered IMO.

But once again, Jokic was 100% invisible on defense and provided zero resistance at the rim. Thats a thing no matter how much we try to gloss over it and the reason the GOAT peak talk isn't it. No other center is getting away with this and he shouldn't either.
