- Author says "Toronto fans have to be realistic about the price".

- Proceeds to lay out Scottie Barnes, Gradey Dick, Ochai Agbaji, and two first round picks as the best offer while telling Bucks fans they need a "reality check"

Lol. Sure, Jan.

I know there has been a breakdown of hypothetical Toronto multi team trade in this thread.

The link above details a complex 4 team trade that actually makes sense.

Im trying not to get my hopes up for Toronto but the fact that Masai masterfully pulled off Kawhi, gives me some optimism this could happen.
Does "makes sense" only apply to the Raptors?

Cause the "pipe dream" might be bad but when its followed up by "the real deal" that supposed to be the realistic offer that looks just as **** then I'd have to assume you mean it only makes sense for one team

I will fully admit I'm being biased towards the Raptors here, lol.

This is why you don't trade 5x FRPs for Mikal Bridges.

people have got to stop looking solely at specific team's packages. There'll undoubtedly be a 3rd or even 4th team facilitating a trade no matter where he goes. Giannis to NY? The NBA would force its farm system teams to do whatever it takes. These teams would be sending quality vets to the Bucks with assurances they'll get "lucky" in next year's draft lottery. Since Bucks don't have picks and won't be tanking they'll want a package of vets to hopefully keep them competing. I could see them sending Lillard to the Jazz for Markkanen and Collins and Giannis to the Knicks for Bridges and Hart. Jazz would take back bad contracts and send out some of their role players (Sexton and Clarkson) to get back draft picks and young players like Smith from Bucks and Dadiet from Knicks.

I think Giannis is awesome. Though I will find it so hilarious if a statement comes out that is indicating he wont be traded on the next year and he is committed to winning a championship while Doc is their head coach  .

just as valid as any rumor, strengthened by the fact that.....still waiting for an ELITE FOREIGN superstar to force his way out of a team because he's ring hunting

it's all just media smoke until then

No chance Cavs are trading Mobley. It'll be Allen + Garland for Giannis as the centerpiece of the trade if one happens with the Cavs.

That Toronto reporter is a dumbass. I think a lot of our fans think they can pull off a Kawhi type heist again. Just not living in reality.

I doubt he demands a trade or the Bucks trade him. I reckon he will just kind of linger away with the Bucks like Dirk did with the Mavs, with first round exits or missing the playoffs. Kind of silly to waste his prime though. He's 30 while Dirk was close to 33 when he won his chip, and the Bucks don't really have any assets.

You guys need to believe Bucks fans when we call it this **** out as BS, national media has been desperate to create a narrative to drive Giannis out of Milwaukee for almost a decade.

Giannis is retiring a Buck

If we don't have to lose all prime assets then well ok I guess but if Giannis isn't thrilled to play with Wemby to play in SA and for the Spurs, or wants a team to be built around him, well I'm ok if we pass.

What's the most you'd be willing to deal for Giannis? I think it makes too much sense for both sides to not end up getting a deal done.

Well #2 has been rumoured to be on the table for Giannis only, but not Castle. It would almost certainly have to include Vassell as a starting point for salary matching purposes. Probably Sochan and a plethora of picks.

I've read it would also almost certainly involve at least a third team, possibly Pels since they have Bucks picks.

Harper Vassell is a solid back court. Harper is a blue chip prospect. Is he Giannis level? Well it doesn't appear so right now. But Giannis wasn't Giannis level if you know what I mean. It's almost always the case that the best player in a deal isn't made up for in quality so quantity has to be the wide net cast. Exceptions happen, like the PG deal that landed OKC Shai.

So Harper, Vassell, Sochan, whoever from Pels plus tons of picks.

We would have to be extremely careful about the second apron far sooner. Counting the cost all over the place, cap, court play, exchange of assets.

Surely Giannis is the first domino to fall. But until then, teams are figuring out if/then permutations and then the subsequent cold war assembling of firepower commences.

It's not Giannis, but would AD be a consolation price worth paying a slightly lesser cost for?

While the age difference isn't ideal, I personally feel like the time is NOW for the Spurs. I don't think you can depend on Wemby having a long 10+ year run and he's good enough right now to make some noise.

#2, Vassell, Keldon Johnson for Anthony Davis works from a salary perspective.

Wemby/Davis
Davis/Sochan
Barnes/Champagnie
Castle/Branham
Fox/Paul

Then they'd have about 35 mill to fill out the rest of the roster.

For the Mavs, they'd go deeper into a high powered re-build getting the two top prospects in the draft to build around and to set themselves up for the next era.

*all 26 or Under*
Lively*/Gafford*/Powell
Washington*/Marshall/Prosper
Flagg*/Martin
Thompson/Christie*
Harper*/Williams*/[Irving]

Try to trade Irving/Marshall/Martin/Thompson for more stuff.
Go Knicks!
