I don’t think you can beat this Thunder defense by attacking from the mid-post or the paint, the point of attack has to start from the perimeter. Guys like Reid and Randle won’t be effective, and players like DiVincenzo and Conley just don’t have the offensive firepower you need.

To crack OKC’s defense, you have to break their first line at the perimeter, then kick it out to open shooters or attack the closeouts. That’s why the Mavs’ backcourt of Kyrie and Luka is such a good blueprint.

On defense, you zone up, limit SGA’s touches in the mid-range and paint, and rely on length and athleticism to close out and rotate on shooters.

Which is why this is their window to get 2-3 championships before retooling after they lose Chet/JDub and most of their role players, but they have a boatload of picks to replenish that talent.

Scary thing is they'll lose some players in the next few years but they have a ton of draft picks.

So they're in position to retool and dominate. Presti has done an amazing job since getting this job over 17yrs ago
