In a word: desperation. As former NBA executive Bobby Marks noted on Twitter, pursuing a free agent after he's committed to another team is a "big violation" of the NBA's unwritten rules. I dunno about that though. With what we know now, the metaphor is the GF left her guy for someone else, then called her guy up to ask if he'll take her back. I don't see that the Clips did anything wrong anymore. This is all on Jordan. At the very least, he should have called Cuban and asked to back out.

Matthews turned down the Kings' offer because he wanted to join DeAndre in Dallas. Don't be surprised if Matthews also backs out of his agreement and calls up the Kings to get the 4/$80M they reportedly offered him.

How about the time when Carlos Boozer convinced the Cavs to let him out of his contract (they had a team option) so they could sign him to a long term contract? Once they did that he quickly signed with Utah.

LOL at Dan Fegan. Losing DJ hurts BAD as a Mavs fan, but this shows how dirty the NBA can be as a business. CP3 is the best PG of this generation, ridiculous that an agent would say something like this.
