So how do Warrior fans look at this? You just won 73 games, almost won back-to-back. Isn't there a part of you that would rather just see them roll the dice as is and see how things shake out, and not deal with all the crap you'll get with this? Why put up with the headaches and even more pressure when you already at the top more or less?

If you're choice is to pay Barnes a significant amount of money to keep the team together or potentially upgrade to KD, that's a pretty easy decision.

I can't see him leaving OKC, unless Westbrook told him he was leaving next year no matter what. Then it makes sense.

Some players, especially great players, want championships. Makes sense for Durant to leave OKC if that's his goal.

I'd rather have Durant at 26mil/yr than Barnes at 23mil/yr and it's as simple as that.

Honestly I want my team to have the best possible chance to win the title. Will we get hate? Sure but we got some hate this year. If you have the chance to sign a top 3 player you do it no matter the backslash.

We could win 2-3 titles without question in the next few years with him instead of Barnes.

I guess my point is you could win 2-3 titles without him and not get half the grief. Last year's hate would look like picnic in comparison. Any loss would be the end of the world. I'd recommend going to a UK college basketball board to get an inkling of the roller coaster a season could be.

Celtics have a great future and would be a title contender with KD. Not sure how you can say it's a worse roster by far with a top 5 defense IT and added Horford. Plus they could use the Nets picks to get another star if needed. Seems like you're kind of talking out of your ass here.

I want KD to join the Celtics. It's better for all of his competitors because they'd get bounced easily by the Cavs and him leaving OKC makes them an easy out too.

KD doesn't need a team"built to win in the future" he needs a team reedy to win now. Horford is a nice player. But he's maybe the 30th...40th best player in the league? He's leaving a guy that is an obvious top ten player (WB) to join Horford and and a much much much worse version of WB? I don't buy it.

The only thing that melds sense is KD staying in OKC who is built to win now and is obviously ready to take even another step with their most recent trade or to go to the Warriors. Him going to Boston mKes no sense. But hey if he wants to be "Alpha" and go to a worse team than what he's on now and make the west easier on my Jazz and make the Warriors less good? I'm all for it. It's stupid of him. But I'm down for that.

That's true, but in the end it is. Just look at the Celtics board. I'm sure the OKC fans are feeling like that as well. They're all hanging on forum boards, twitter, espn, etc. all day waiting on an announcement rather than enjoying the holiday.

losing in the finals felt like end of the world. End of the day ask the Lakers over the years was it worth the hate to win titles? was it worth it for Miami fans to get all the hate winning two titles in 4 years? yeah I think they will say yes. I get your point but winning matters above all else no matter how. Nobody here would rather pay Barnes 23 million per than have KD at 26 millon per year
