Looks like he made this move because his wife wanted to live in LA. There is no way he is going to compete with GSW or Houston with any team LAL puts together.

This roster is already better than the Cav's, so nothing really changes.. he just faces GS in the WCF instead of the finals.

Not buying the whole thing it's not about contending for a title anymore.

Pressure he 100% won't live up to. He's going to retire in the shadow of Kobe.

None of those stars were playing in the same era as the greatest team in NBA history.

It’s not age. Lebron has been in league longer- if he’d taken max every year his max would be higher.

The issue is he didn’t take the max every year. He took less in Miami and when you add the % more he can get after each year it adds up to this.

You sure I thought there was a cut off for these supermax deals and Chris Paul basically used his leverage as President of the players association to extend the age limit. I could be wrong not well versed in the CBA.

Bro, Lopez is a unrestricted free agent

lol thanks for filing me in. thought he was still on lakers since haven't heard any FA rumor about him but i guess its cause he's not that good.

I think the Spurs trade Kawhi to Philly or just keep him and possibly offer the super max.

No it isn't. Ingram, Kuzma, and Ball are still raw and unproven (Ball could just plain suck).

The NBA needs the Lakers and Knicks to be good. Too bad Dolan is probably the worst owner in the league. Those 99 Knicks were one of my favorite teams ever. Same with the Shaq era Lakers. I can be a hardcore Jazz fan, and still appreciate great teams that aren't annoying.

Okay, Lakers fixed themselves, so please for the love, find a way to fix the damn Knicks. Maybe wrong thread for this rant, but I see so many more years of pain for some of the best fans in the world.

only thing that really bugs me is he could have gotten the cavs a low asset in a sign and trade. Probably a last FU to Gilbert but still.

I’m not sure I’ve seen one cavs fan that cares he’s leaving. Obviously no one likes the lakers because their fans are babies but everyone’s cool with Lebron leaving

no I meant cavs as in cavs organisation. lebron literally gave all his friends these big horrible contracts and then left

Who cares now though? Better for tanking. We don’t need cap space we need new management

I doubt they'll still be the best team in the league in 4 years. Possible but a lot of things can happen in that span.

Jesus it was a hot take people not like a fact i made...I've seen worse hot takes on here before lmao

Something tells me Gilbert ego might want to try and prove this team can make the playoffs without Lebron. East still ain't all that great...But his team sucks without Lebron sooo yeah easier said than done lol

Family was clearly the biggest factor in all this. Also LA isn’t gonna be done. Theyre gonna go for it obviously.

Yeah, Ball isn't going to work with LeBron.

Definitely. LeBron can do this on his own. Why even sign multiple star players?
