Where exactly have Raptors fans been bad? Show me examples of the crowds at games being bad in the Raptors games?

If you're speaking about RGM, then that's a different take and that's no different than any other group on here either.

Please Raps fans, just say we all regret it and move on. It is the only path out of this bad rap hole. Or read 'Woman in the Dunes,' by Kobo Abe for a good analogy. Cliff notes, your love of the Raps is analogous to his love for the woman who has her home surrounded by sand dunes, so he continues to fill the buckets with sand to keep the home he has come to accept (the Raptors) every day....the defense of your team is represented by the digging of sand daily to keep the hole free, but you fall deeper and deeper into the dunes....

So does every Raptors have have to apologize for the actions of a few? I see enough comments from Raptors fans that these people are idiots and not accepted by us but do you need each one of us to stand up and say Sorry for those amongst us that acted wrong? If that's what it takes, I'm more than willing to apologize for a few idiots.

The reason so many may be getting their backs up is that there is a huge generalization of Raptors fans going on. No one was saying all Dubs fans are bad because of Mark stevens actions were they?

Yup. Letting these threads die is a good start. I will pull out... But yes I have seen multiple posts lumping warriors fans and management in with him and claiming they cheered the head cut of VanLeet.

No more of this :banghead:

This is so dumb. Durant goes down and turns over the ball. Most fans would cheer at that point. It sets in that he is injured and walks off. It's pretty standard to cheer when an injured player leaves the court. A few dicks waved. Others cheered and chanted KD. Many others condemned the actions of aforementioned dicks.

And I'm sure all GS fans are equally outraged by one of the friggin' owners pushing a player or cheering and chanting when Vanvleet got nailed in the head.

Simple as that. Anyone trying to argue otherwise is obtuse and or a troll or likes being angry.

whysoserious wrote:When you watch the TV replays, it's easy to see the focus was on KD going down, in the arena, we (and i speak for my own experience and am projecting that on a lot of other people) didn't even see KD down and saw Ibaka with the steal, you hear the crowd rise and start cheering right as the play breaks and you can't see KD down from a lot of angles. That's a fact. Idiots will be idiots and those that cheered for the actual injury should be called out.

As he gets up you can see a few idiots waiving bye and others telling fans to stop. They cheering started before you noticed he was down and because of that I think the players saw some of the idiots up close and tried to squash it. Which was the right thing to do and once majority of us caught on to what happened, they all cheered Durant off and chanted KD.

It was a mess of timing on the tv side of things so I get how the optics look and how so many watching could see it the way they are seeing it. But there weren't 20k Raptors fans cheering hte injury, i was in the building and can say that with certainty. The idiots cheering, well I don't consider them Raptors fans.
Why can't others see the common sense in this post? This is what happened. There shouldn't be anything left to say.

I think that Raptor fans should collectively prostrate themselves and beg for forgiveness, that is the only way that this can be resolved before Thursday evening.

I'm not sure outrage is the right emotion, as most fans didn't see what the owner did to Lowry, or why Lowry was so upset. However, once it was all exposed, and the penalty was levied, I as a 5-decade long fan of GSW, thought, "good!" I thought he was an idiot for shoving Lowry, and deserved all he got and more. A bit more public ridicule wouldn't hurt, and would probably humble him in a way he'ld never think about doing something so dumb ever again. Most wouldn't even need public shaming to know what he did wasn't right, but some people really are that arrogant or thick.

There's nothing obtuse about it, considering everyone knew KD hurt himself when he went down. Are you actually trying to say you didn't know he aggravated the injury as soon as it happened? There's even a guy up behind KD waving goodbye to him. Some Raptors' players even had to ask the crowd to stop...

It's funny you accuse other people of being obtuse when it seems like you are being obtuse..

Now, I don't think that Toronto is the only place that would have cheered Durant getting hurt.

No I didn't know he was injured. Nor did thousands of other fans who literally just saw a player fall and turn over the ball. How they reacted once it was obvious is what should be judged. And congrats on ignoring the rest of what I said only to mention I'm obtuse.

Yes. As I and others have mentioned some people were dicks.

The initial cheering (probably most fans, not the ones who continued) was out of relief that we had a shot. He was torching us. It like (granted a huge difference)the cheering when an opposing player gets ejected.
Then the human element sets it and you realize what an injury actually means. It's the unfortunate reality that fans view players as characters in a narrative first and humans second. It's like when Giannis fouled out in game 3 and raptors fans rejoiced. Im not saying fouling out and an Achilles tear are in any way close. Just the initial reaction is first that he's out of the game because they're viewed not as humans first. After the realization of why someone's out, Giannis foul yeah keep cheering, but KD, most stopped and clapped and chanted his name.

It's the reality of sports, you don't want people injured but you forget in the moment. Before the last couple games most raps fans said offensively we need to attack Klay and KD defensively to see what they got. One could look at that as trying to reagrevate that injury by forcing the play at them.

Put it in perspective, if this was any other team, there probably would've been a similar reaction. An initial relief that he's gone, followed by the realization that he's out.

Yes. As I and others have mentioned some people were dicks.

You equating "a few dicks" to Warriors fans chanting "let's go Warriors" when FVV is on the ground, or an isolated incident that most didn't even see without reply and everyone universally condemned speaks for itself. It's not "dumb", it's an example of an inhumane line crossed in sports. And it wasn't just a "few". Raptors fans deserve all the flack they're getting, regardless of whether or not you're a good person at heart.

As pathetic thing as fans cheering a potentially career ending injury?

Take a few bad apples and generalize it to an entire fan base to fit your narrative. Whatever helps you sleep at night bud.
Seems like you are the one coping with these comments. Your fanbase's image is tainted now.

Only in the eyes of a few morons who generalize. I'm perfect good with that since their opinions don't really matter in the end. I won't talk any more about them since it seems likely they have enough problems to deal with if they think its a good idea to act that way. Poor form.

A lot of people cheered when they realized he was on the ground. A good amount of them stopped when they realized that it was something serious, and also the other players were scolding the crowd. Seemed like mostly they got caught up in the excitement and knowing the chances were better without him.

When it happened and I saw all the cheering I knew the Warriors were going to win that game.

Raptors fans dont HAVE to apologize, whether they cheered or not...but if you're content just saying "wasn't me", it leaves a bad impression because the classy thing to do would be to say "we are sorry our fanbase acted that way. If I ever see it again I'll put them in check personally."

The fact that some of you are more concerned with your fanbase as a wholes perception than the issue at large is insane. Get a grip - to thise people.

What you are missing is the ones who have both apologized on behalf of the fan base AND are concerned with the image because of a few people who have an agenda to try and destroy it.
