After Chuck's comments I looked up CHI/PHX Game 2 in 1993

Bulls win 111-108, and the score in the 4th quarter was 24-24, so likely a true dogfight/great game.

Barkley brings his MVP game:
42pts (16-26 0-1 10-12) 13reb 4ast 1stl 1blk 2TO

Michael counters with:
42pts (18-36 2-2 4-5) 12reb 9ast 2stl 0blk 5TO

Now that's a good ole fashioned high level HOF duel with everything at stake.

In Game 4 Chuck dropped a 32-12-10 triple double only to watch the Bulls win anyway as Michael dropped 55 the other way.

I'm enjoying this, however, the grip Jordan has over the narrative is clear. Obviously that is the only way to bring him on board, but a true documentary really getting under the skin of some of the issues would be even more interesting.

Krause is a dick. But hes really getting screwed over here, he is entirely right that the organisation doesn't get the credit it deserves. If Krause doesn't do his job well, MJ wins zero rings and we aren't watching a documentary.

Left wing sports media only wanted him (and most other athletes) involved because they assumed he would be on their side. You never hear those same media types whining about why someone who may actually be a Republican is not involved enough in politics. Kind of like when someone doesn't want to go see Obama at the WH they are a prick but when they don't want to go see Trump they are doing their civic duty. Its all partisan BS disguised as something else.

I know you are bing hyperbolic.... but those ratings don't lie:

Image

1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998 remain the 4 highest rated finals ever. 1991 is 6th.

The 1986 finals is the only non MJ/Bulls series in the top 5

Honestly insane how high ratings are today! There's 1000x more to do today and ratings are THAT high, really is proof basketball's never been more popular.

Um, did you even look at the chart? Ratings dropped off massively from 1998 to 1999 and have been pretty consistent ever since.

That's impressive given ratings for more or less everything are down short of the NFL which is some kind of magical unicorn.

The fact that Jordan refused to be a pawn in liberal agenda makes me respect him even more.

I’m sure they’ll twist both things w/ a narrative of how they needed to leave those awful situations, but very true that you can see the major difference in the mentality.

Also, KD needs to accomplish WAY more to be deserving of such a documentary.

IMO KD and LBJ had very valid reasons for wanting to leave their first teams. People have different opinions regarding those two players, and for the most part, a documentary isn't gonna change people's opinions. I personally hold those two players in very high regard, and I would love to watch a documentary about their careers.

To me, your last statement is downright comical. If Iverson got a documentary, KD definitely deserves one IMO (assuming that he actually wants a documentary to be made about him).

Quote that neatly fits an overriding theme of the series

“When you get to the top, it’s great to be admired and respected,” Jordan says. “I’m not saying that wasn’t fun. But every time I would get by myself, I would think about the end of the season and the ultimate goal, holding up that championship trophy and being recognized as the best team in the world. … I’m going to give every little bit to get to it.”

Truly the GOAT.

Ep 5 started off with Kobe. :(

Players like AI, Lebron, and Kobe are much more interesting sports figures than Durant. He may get one but no one is clamoring for it.

What has KD he done to deserve a 10 part last dance type documentary? Iverson’s documentary is like a couple hours - not 10 hour long chapters/parts. KDs story could never fill that much content. Not even close.

And Iverson has a much more interesting story dating back to his youth.

Exactly. You could do this type of documentary w/ those guys, but not KD. When he won his titles it wasn’t even clear he was the best player on his teams? That one season he didn’t even play in the first round?

Waiting for Barkley's documentary called "The Last Doughnut."

Also after the first 3 peat you can already see Krause talking about the organization.

He is but you wonder if he deserves it. You hear of teammates wanting credit but not a GM. Also suspect Reinsdorf's approval must have been needed for some parts of the documentary so they couldn't go to town on him as much as they would like. Krause and Reinsdorf were the bad guys at the time
