Passing is one of those abilities which stacks well. You don't necessarily get tons of assists out of everyone, but the more guys on your team who are constantly looking for the better play and can deliver, the more fluid and effective will be your offense.

I'm assuming there's something else to this, because otherwise, that's an insane statement.

Yes, you very much want a team of great passers. Obviously, you don't want to overload yourself with nothing else, because there are only so many passes to make, but the better awareness and passing ability your guys have, the better off you are.
