I know it’s pre season but wow I didn’t know Ayton’s defense was actually going to be this good.

Ricky with Luka's jumpshot and size would be a star.

I agree, they have some high ceiling guys, and I would even put Bogda there even though he is 26.

At least, Ayton plays D. Still needs to fill out. Looks good so far, but not at the level of Embiid. He's better than Bagley for sure. Looks like he owned Bags in their matchup.

I also think they have decent vets (Randolph, Bjelica, Shumpert, Ferrell, Koufos) to mix with their young players.

I know Boston fans think they are going to be the worst team by far, but I like their coach too and think they can end up around 30-35 W's this season (remember they won 27 games last season).
They seem hungry and motivated and have no reason to lose.

Rubio has more quickness, and better defensive instincts. But Luka's not just a better shooter, he's a much better scorer in every way, especially finishing at the rim.

current Rubios level would be great for a rookie...

Yeah, I agree, They are completely different players tho, the only similarity is very high feel for the game and good passing instincts.

Don't know if postions matter, but Doncic probably will have 1 or 2 more tags than Ayton

Honestly am shocked that he is getting 21 ppg without post moves and just a couple jumpers. I thought he'd be limited to like 14 points on those easy shots around the basket, but he might get more this season.

Trae Young better start knocking down three's soon. It's his biggest strength and it is a huge concern that he has been abysmal shooting from range in preseason and summer league.

IMO, Trey Young's biggest strength is his passing and shot creation for others. He wasn't an efficient shooter in college and I don't expect him to be in the NBA. If his shooting efficiency develops over his career, that will be a bonus. He needs to be enough of a shooting threat off the dribble to put pressure on the defense and set up his penetration and passing, and to able to efficiently knock down open catch and shoot looks. But he isn't "Curry Lite" and I think it's a mistake to expect him to play as if he is.
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

Post moves is just more than backing your man down with the ball and using Hakeem like fakes. Ayton excels in an area of big man play that has been lost for decades. Half the battle is fought before the big man actually gets the ball. With Duncan gone Ayton might already be the best big man in the league at battling for post position and sealing his man. He's better at it than Dwight's ever been.
