better than having to watch a fake superstar make super max money for a treadmill team.

Not buying the whole thing it's not about contending for a title anymore.
With this squad? Yeah right. Playoffs will be a battle.

Bro, Lopez is a unrestricted free agentstreetp0et wrote:lakers should try hard to unload ball and lopez for assets now. ball best skill set is nullified by lebron now and lopez is soft non rebounding big so he won't mesh well with lebron.

Looks like he made this move because his wife wanted to live in LA. There is no way he is going to compete with GSW or Houston with any team LAL puts together.
This roster is already better than the Cav's, so nothing really changes.. he just faces GS in the WCF instead of the finals.

No it isn't. Ingram, Kuzma, and Ball are still raw and unproven (Ball could just plain suck).

It’s not age. Lebron has been in league longer- if he’d taken max every year his max would be higher.
The issue is he didn’t take the max every year. He took less in Miami and when you add the % more he can get after each year it adds up to this.
You sure I thought there was a cut off for these supermax deals and Chris Paul basically used his leverage as President of the players association to extend the age limit. I could be wrong not well versed in the CBA.

None of those stars were playing in the same era as the greatest team in NBA history.
I doubt they'll still be the best team in the league in 4 years. Possible but a lot of things can happen in that span.

Since when is it dumb to use your cap space to sign the best player in the NBA? There will be more moves coming. I expect KL to be traded to the Lakers. If it doesn't happen KL will just sign with the Lakers next year.
I also think Cousins is a real possibility as well.

Without any real expectations (not like there were much with the Cavs but still..) and not on the biggest stage (Finals)
Maybe he thought that if he was gonna lose to the Warriors anyway (or some other team now that he's in the West), might as well do so in sunny LA.
