Sorry to hear Scottie is out with tendonitis tonight. Hopefully, it's just a one-game injury.

Jalen Green had another efficient game, 16 points vs the heat. Would have had more but again got iced out in the second half because the rockets do not have good passing outside of Sengun. 14 point first half and only had 2 second half shots that weren't just garbage time looks. +5 in a 10 point loss.

Sengun got hurt tho :(

Love is now firmly 3rd best player of this Cavs team after Garland and Allen. Just has a monster December.

What does that have to do with the rookies

Couple of days ago there was talk about Mobley's ranking in Cavs team and I said Mobley is currently not among top 3 players of Cavs. Some fans did not like it but I was right. Love has been very good for Cavs lately.

Aaron Wiggins gets a chance and looks like he can play a bit. Good defender too. Not bad for the #55 pick.

You weren't right and you still aren't. Until Love can be anything close to decent on the defensive end, he's not Cleveland's third best player. And this is coming from someone who usually defends him.

Green has his TS/EFG up to 52/48

Still well below league averages on both, but at least within a similar range many previous rookies who went on to have star scoring careers, and it's good to see improvement.

It looks like he is being much more selective with his shots and making the right reads. Eventually he's going to need to work on his passing game but he is at least willing to move the ball. And I have seen some decent passes from him so it's not like he's incapable. It's just going to take some time for him to put it all together.

Yeah wasnt super impressed with his game at the start of the season, but could see some potential

He's playing much more within himself and is looking like a solid 2 guard right now for the future. His 3p shot is looking a lot more composed as well. Once he gets stronger as well he'll be more comfortable finishing and driving with the contact

Franz Wagner by far, Franz played more (Barnes, Mobley missing couple of games) and overall had a great December, his number exploded. Clear cut top 3 rookie together with Barnes & Mobley.

I didn't even realize they had an East and West award, it's been so long since a Magic player has been in contention. I guess Herb Jones in the West?

Yeah it's gotta be Franz. I love the way Mobley's played since coming back but those ten days he missed killed his chances. Let Franz have this one, he absolutely deserves it.

Franz averaged 20/5/3 (P/R/A) on 48/40/89 in December.

Prorated over a season, those are all-star numbers and any improvements would probably make him a top 10 player in the league.

Keep in mind that averaging 20+ PPG on 50/40/90 is an elite group membership of I believe 6 players (all of whom are or will be HoF players) since the '70s (after the 3 pt line installed) have averaged over a season.

I'm not arguing that Franz doesn't deserve it. I'm only mentioning the way Mobley's played since coming back because he's had 22/21/16 in his last three on great efficiency. Mobley putting up those kinds of numbers on a regular basis pretty much puts him head and shoulders above anyone else in this rookie class, including Franz, due to his elite defense on top of those numbers. But like I said before, it's only been brief and because he missed all those games this month, he wasn't able to expand on it.

Thus, Franz should be the ROM, and rightfully so.

Franz was also completely gassed in the last game, from playing in 15 games this month. Plus he's had to do so much like bringing the ball up the floor. It's harder to produce numbers when playing every game.

Any rookie, Wagner aside, who puts up a 50/40/90 season on 20+ PPG would probably be considered the best rookie season of the last 50 years.
