Watch this and tell me he is just as good as this now.
In 21-22 he had compared to 24-25 = per +7.1, +0.36 ts %, +0.81 % ws/48, +4.3 ws, +3.1 vorp, +3.8 obpm, +4.7 bpm.
Pure RAPM rank: 21-22: 2# in the NBA on offense. 24-25: 47# in the NBA on offense.
MAMBA rank: 21-22: #1 in the NBA on offense. 24-25: #35 in the NBA on offense.
RAPTOR rank: 21-22: #2 in the NBA on offense. 24-25: Not available.
DARKO rank: 21-22: #2 in the NBA on offense. 24-25: #14 in the NBA on offense.
LEBRON rank: 21-22: #2 in the NBA on offense. 24-25: #14 in the NBA on offense.
And horrible defensively in all of them and barely any improvement there from 22 to 25.
So when his value offensively has fallen so much, his overall value on winning basketball games falls by a lot.

21-22: 28.4 pts on 3.1 3s a game at 38.2 %, 51.2 % 2pt, 90.4 ft %, 46 % fg (41.1 last year with 4.2 less points a game btw) and basically the same assist to turnover ratio as in 24/25.

I don't think it's jumping to any conclusions by pointing out how good he used to be, and that he has a lot to prove this season after a steady decline in what should be his peak years of play. I noticed that the Hawks subreddit was pretty frustrated as well, so it's not just me expecting to see better production. I think he's just lost a step or two and those seconds cost you in such a fast paced and athletic game like the NBA.

Everyone told him not to play like that anymore. (Pretty sure the Hawks lost that game.)

Now that he doesn’t, everyone pulls up the numbers as evidence of his obvious decline.

That doesn't mean that he has to miss more shots just because he plays a bit differently though. His shooting and gameplay is just worse overall now.
With a good team around him this season there are no excuses for being less efficient, he just has to start performing.
That game was clearly not his fault though, sometimes your teammates play bad.

SGA looked great as usual, Chet had a nice all around game but still isn't hitting threes (1-4 3pt) just like the rest of the team. At this point OKC just needs to trade for some shooters, it's incredibly annoying to watch them go 27 % or worse yet again against third stringers from three. I guess no one has talent for shooting in this team, SGA is the only guy shooting a decent percentage except for Joe who was out. I actually think the Rockets will beat OKC due to the fact that OKC just haven't been getting Chet and J-Dub ready and playing, and the 3pt shooting still has not improved.

Luka Doncic looks ready to do a lot of stuff, but the Lakers defense is quite suspect to say the least. Reaves might be struggling with some small injuries and has stupidly decided to play through it. I think Luka will have to do a loooooot of heavy lifting in the first month of the season, get ready for 40 + 10 assists kind of performances. He is capable, even though I would like to see him get a little bit leaner than he is he still looked like he had more energy despite having a heavy offensive load in the 3rd quarter. Ayton looks soft in the paint tbh, just not physical or present enough when people attack the rim imo.

Keon Ellis shows some potential as a player, too bad he is stuck in Kings hell so they need more long twos or bricks near the rim from Westbrook.
Zach LaVine has declined HEAVILY as an athlete, he doesn't even look to take high % shots near the rim, plays below the ground now. Maybe he is just coasting in the preseason, but I don't remember seeing many athletic plays from him like we used to see.

I'm so happy Wemby landed with the Spurs. Definitely a core that can win Wemby multiple MVPs and championships which are necessary for his GOAT campaign. Just needs 1-2 more additions via FA and this is the best team in the league in 3 years.

I'd just like to know where those people are who say Knecht could be an allstar player some day? wish I saved those posts as I just don't see it.

Vando/Knecht Gafford swap? don't want to talk trade too early as like I said I love Vando but ... It's preseason I'll come back midseason

it's not bad value, although I don't really see where the Mavs play vando, a pick and a bad record the trade deadline might make me fall asleep

Embiid looked pretty good, Edgecombe made smart decisions and Maxey are ready. Hard to take much from a game against G-Leaguers.

The Heat look like washed up assjuice from Narnia, I would rather kms than watch a season of Miami Heat basketball without Tyler Herro. My goodness is it painful to watch Jaime Jaquez or Andrew Wiggins try to drive or take low % 2 pt shots.
The only good thing is when they use Norman Powell driving in pick and rolls with Ware, Powell is the best chubby player in the league right now and is playing well despite eating at McDonalds all offseason. Just need to make it easy for Ware, because he plays pretty soft and is not good at establishing deep position in the paint, and takes bad % jump hooks going away from the rim instead of looking for higher % stuff near the rim.

Bam Adebayo looks pretty decent all around as well but he is not a consistent offensive player.

It's going to be messy for the Heat early, they will struggle to create reliable offense without Powell on the court.
Better pray Tyler Herro gets back and is in All Star form, or this is going to be one of the worst teams in the league. I don't see Norman Powell being able to lead the Heat to the playoffs as the main guy.

Memphis.. idk. They have some young prospects but I can't see them doing a lot unless Edey and Morant come back 100 % and a lot of things go their way. JJJ looks terrible out there, clearly not 100 % after his turf toe stuff. Good luck with that in the west.

It was OKC's first night playing most of the regular rotation together so I'm not going to read too much into it, but the Nuggets 2nd unit outplayed them and not by a small margin.

That said, OKC's 3rd string >> Denver's 3rd string. They're a very, very deep team once again.

Great game overall for a pre-season game.
